Hey all, Does anyone know if there is a way to keep the DRL's at full brightness when using an euro-switch with only the fogs on?
Hopefully that makes sense... next setting over from 'Auto', pull out, fogs on.. but the DRL's go to maybe 1/4 brightness? the DRL's are so good looking! Just thought it would look great with LED fogs, and those nice DRLs!
Any help greatly appreciated!

morri88 : Hi. There is a very good reason why VW dims the DRLs whenever the lamps are lit during nighttime; DRLs don't have reflectors with defined cut-off characteristics (like the low-beam lamps). This means that if DRLs have full illumination at nighttime, they are very likely to blind on-coming traffic. The OEM solution, dim the illumination to a comfortably safe level.

Hi Don,
I am not driving around at night with DRL's and fog lights. I should have clarified. That would be dumb if I did. I just was looking to run the fogs with the DRLs during day.. also kind of dumb, but just for the look.. zero function.

morri88 : OK - I've re-read your first post and I now better understand the scenario - my bad! The only excuse for my sloppy reading is the billions of neurons that I have killed because of an over-fondness for single-malt!! So, the way to do this is to add the Leuchte-command for the front fog-lights function to the Leuchte-sets that control the DRLs. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Leuchte-programming - but it's the rudimentary instruction-set that MQB platform cars (like your Mk2 Tiggy) use to manage the 35 x exterior light. A Leuchte-set is a bunch of 19 x adaptation channels that live in the central-electric module and that start with the word "Leuchte" (and that have the same Parent name). Each Leuchte-set controls a separate lamp and there is a DRL lamp on each side of the car
The problem is that the factory programming of the Leuchte-sets for the DRLs are different depending on the country of sale and depending on the type of DRL fitted (i.e. LED, or incandescent). So, to proceed - I need to see screenshots of the Leuchte-sets for the DRLs on your car. Go to the central electrics module - select Adaptation- take screenshots of : - Leuchte2SL VLB10
- Leuchte4TFL LB4
To be clear - I need to see the values of ALL 19 X adaptation channels for each Leuchte-set Don
PS: what does this mean? Any help greatly appreciated! <input type="hidden" id="hippowiz-ass-injected" value="true"><input type="hidden" id="hvmessage-toextension-listener" value="none"> Type

DV52, Sorry for the delay! I didn't have a Pro license, and for some reason there was an error when I purchased it at first and was only told today, so now I have it. I went into those modules, and noticed it would've been a number of screenshots for each as there was a lot of data in there.. I took screen records and scrolled through to show everything. iCloud link: share.icloud.com/photos/0l_nsj6QKAsl6K5qhbqtPM-hA Hopefully that works! As for the mumbo jumbo at the end of my initial post... I have no idea.. I went back and deleted it as well. Side Q - Is it possible to have fogs on with high beams? That used to be a pretty standard feature to turn on with OBDEleven / VCDS. Thank you!!

I didn't have a Pro license, Alas - that's a deal-breaker!! Without a PRO-license and now a yearly subscription (milking the cash-cows) - you can't do manual coding changes with OBD11. Do you know someone who lives close that does have OBD11 with a PRO account?.
I never recommend using OBD11 one-click-Apps because they can be problematic to unwind if something goes wrong (the Apps leave no change records - so they are difficult to problem solve). But if you are prepared to accept the risk (I am not, but I have a PRO account) - then maybe look for a one-click-App that does what you want?
Also, can't access your pics - I don't use iOS (maybe that's the problem?)
Yes, VWWatercooled is my home forum - and yes, the instructions should be directly transferable to OBD11 speak. BUT, again you need a PRO account to do the tweak manually. Again, you might find a one-click-App for this tweak - if you accept the risk and the consequences if the moist loose stools in the brown stuff collide with the proverbial fan blades!!

Well, I have Pro now! So here are the screenshots of the modules! The last link is for the fogs with highbeams.. I believe I just need to click "aktiv 100%" for both left and right fogs for option 1? morris: hello again and thanks for posting-up the information that I requested Not good news -alas: If you look at the settings in both Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte4TFL LB4 - you will see that the 2 x Leuchte-sets are disabled (notice in particular the value of Lasttyp = not active). This means that on your car the lamps in the headlight fittings (including the DRLs) are NOT controlled by the central electrics module (@ address hex09).
Instead, you car uses Light Control Modules for this function - which I assume will be identified at address hexD7 and hexD6 on your scan report.
So, Leuchte-sets are not used on your car for these lamps and even more unfortunate is the fact that there are no coding facilities on the LCMs that can be accessed by OBD11 to change the behavior of the DRLs - alas!!
As for the fog-light tweak - No, not really!!
Think about what will happen if you apply your suggested Leuchte-command "aktiv 100%" to the fog-lights. With this command, the fog-lights will be illuminated 100% of the time whenever the ignition is turned-on (regardless of the position of the rotary light switch). This is not what you want!!
Perhaps I should provide more information about this tweak to explain how to proceed: Leuchte12NL LB45 controls the left-side front-fog and Leuchte13NL RB5 is for the right-side lamp (notice "L" and "R" in the name). In my VWWatercooled instructions, I identify the Leuchte commands for option 1 as "Left high beam" & "Right high beam". This is how VCDS reports these Leuchte-commands, but OBD11 reports them in their original German as "Fernlicht links" and "Fernlicht rechts" (respectively). Clearly, the "links" command applies to the left-side Leuchte-set and "rechts" command applies to the right-side Leuchte-set.
So, for the Leuchte12NL LB45 screenshot - for Lichtfunktion C 12, scroll down until you find Fernlicht links and do the same for Lichtfunktion C 13 on Leuchte13NL RB5 but apply Fernlicht rechts. Then apply the rest of the settings as described in my instructions

Ironically, there is now an app in OBD11 that allows exactly what I was looking for, and it works. Fogs on with DRL's, and the DRL's are at full brightness! 10 credits bam.
Unfortunately this app came out after I bought a euro switch, and a pro license. Ah well.. was able to do some long coding adaptations that weren't available as apps.
I still need to enable fogs with high beams though..

Is there a way to activate comfort windows with key fob?

I was able to get the driver side window to open via keyfob after enabling the "all windows" option in the in car settings from the display panel.
But only the driver side window opens.
Can anyone help trouble shoot this? I did try and activate most of the adaptations under ZV Komfort...

Hi all
A quick question. A friend of mine has a 2017 Tiguan. His puddle lights were working but out of nothing it stopped. When locking or unlocking the car when it's dark outside the puddle lights don't go on. I also did the coding so they should turn on when unfolding the mirrors but that also doesn't turn it on. Is there any other setting that i can check? Even if it is for the basic setting. Thanks in advance.

Beside this i've noticed that the quick app CH/LH says not supported. What adaptation do i need to changebin order the let the mirror lights turn on? When we unlock the car the lights go on but not the mirrors. When locking the car they go off immidiatly. The only thing we did is using the quick app to turn off the memory of high beam assist when ignition is off.

Also TSR takes a lot more than that to activate it and if you are in AUS it doesnt work properly anyway

I don’t think so, but do you know you can adjust it +/-1 by using the SET and RES buttons, and to adjust it by +/-10 by using the + and - buttons?

Any way to cancel the ‘engine On’ Alarm when the door is opened? The "ignition on" alarm procedure above is fine but I m looking for a similar procedure in case the engine is on and the door opened. I ve found many people asking for this online but nobody found a procedure with obd11.. someone here can help me? What year is your vehicle? Based off what I’ve found, VW hard-coded it on all 2020+ models. Aka No coding to permanently deactivate

Hello
I tried the "Increase Responsiveness" adaption and it failed. It says its still in standard VW mode. However, the car no longer goes into coasting mode when the throttle is released, it stays in the relevant gear and displays D1 to D7, rather than D and allows the revs to drop.
I've tried setting it "back" to VW standard, but since itvhhinks it failed, it says no changes were made.
How do we resolve this. Please.
Thank you Tiguan 230 tsi tech Rline dsg

If you used an App then you need to talk to OBD11 Support via the help service.
If you coded it then what you are saying is that it did not take.
Either way have you checked your backup before hand and after to see if any changes have been applied and have you run a scan to see if there are any errors.

Hi guys! I am new to the MK2 Tiguan world and I have a very odd issue with my MK2 Tiguan. My car is not equipped with front park assist or ACC however when I turn the vehicle on it shows a warning "front assist not avaialable"
No real codes, aside from a few communication codes basically meaning the car is looking for modules that are not present. Oddly enough the ACC is enabled in the functions list in the central electronics/gateway module. I have an Autel and can change coding however I do not know what to change it too. I simply want to tell the car that it does not have front assist. The car was in a front end collision at some point and I have verified with the dealer by VIN that the car did not come with ACC/Front assist.
Any help would be appreciated this is driving me nuts!
