Hi All,
This is my first post, apologies for asking for help straight away!
I have done a fair bit of reading and searching, but I cannot find an answer that has given me enough info to help. Most searches that I've read regarding brakes just help with changing the rear pads, or general coding advice.
The scenario is that my wife's Passat went into the garage a few weeks after me buying it for a set of four tyres, and the mechanic locked the handbrake on, and continued to hit the handbrake butting 50 or 60 times to try and release it. I could see all this through the waiting room glass. Another mechanic came to help and in the end, they forced the caliper and pads off the stuck side and wound it back.
I replaced the EPB switch with a genuine VW one, and I replaced the EPB module with a 2nd hand one from eBay. This wasn't effective at the time, so it stayed this way for a LONG time as every mechanic that I paid to look at it said that they couldn't figure out the problem. I looked at the wiring to the left rear Caliper motor and cleaned everything and for the first time in a year the handbrake worked. It is still working now approx. two months later.
I still have a series of lights on the dash though.
I bought the OBDEleven device and Pro Pack due to reading about the ability to code car systems, but I am very UN tech savvy, and don't understand what I am doing with it.
I am good at following instructions through, so if anyone has any input/guidance/advice, then please reply if you can help...
P.S. I do still have the original EPB module and would be happy about removing the interior and refitting it if I had too..
Kind regards,
Steve

Apologies if this is not what you asked for. I'm really not the best with this sort of technology... But, if you or anyone else here can help, then I would be immensely grateful...
Thanks, Steve

You should connect your old module > save coding > connect new module > write coding to new module from old.

You should connect your old module > save coding > connect new module > write coding to new module from old. So, the coding from the original module will be retained despite it being out of the car for months? Steve

Sorry to jump in as I have a similar issue and have a replacement epb on order, how do you save the coding and then write it to the new module as I am new to obdeleven pro too and I can't see how to save/write to the module. All help is greatly appreciated
