It could just be a placebo but it does seem slightly more sensitive/responsive. I have a 2017 R as well.

Try audi pedal mod, you will feel the difference.

At least using the driving mode offered in some trim levels of the Golf, the difference is very clear! Maybe the Golf R already comes tuned to a quicker throttle responde...?

Controller 01- Engine 07 - Coding Byte 0, Bit 0-2, Change from Škoda (01) to AUDI (02) this will dramatically reduce lag on pressing accelerator pedal.
Search on google for more info.

If this improves throttle response, isnt that what the app does? this exact coding? and what to do in bit 0-2? activate all? choose one?

ofektal8, when you go into long coding and select byte 0
You will see that Bit 0, 1 & 2 are all one option if you select it you will be given a dropdown list, select Audi from the list and save.
Job Done.
Dont know what the app does but this is the coding to make the change

Some ppl after doing this tweak got some abs errors. If you get any error, just change back from audi to your brand.

Is the Delay between pressing the throttle and the engine reving a physical thing that delays? a low version of a component in the car? or is it a software and the car can do it immediately?

tim2701, just been through this on the Seat forums, simple answer is try it and see if it makes any difference, if it does not reverse it.
If it does enjoy the new feeling.
On the facelift LEON's they got some error messages but on the pre facelift (eg MK7) we did not.

If im getting this right. I'm obviously going into the engine selection. Then "long coding" (07 doesn't appear next to it). Byte 0 shows up automatically. I see the "volkswagen/skoda" with a tick box that when clicked on gives the Audi option. So it's as simple as selecting that then holding the green check mark (lower right of screen) to save the value?

I think the 07 is from a VCDS instruction where the modules are numbered dude And looking at the instructions yes that’s how you do the mod

I think the app is supposed to do something like this but it doesn't do exactly this since I used the app then went into the engine coding and the value was VW/Skoda. I would expect that the app would change the value to Audi. I didn't feel much difference with the app. I'm going to try the Audi code but I want to confirm I'm changing the value in the correct place first.

Ofektal8- Did some searching. Seems like what that app does is change the throttle value in the steering (44) channel (for lack of better term). When I connect and use the menu to view the subsystems (i.e. engine, trans, central electronics, etc) I went to the steering one which shows as one option "driving profile switchover". I selected that and saw the value to be option B which was listed as something to the effect of being "direct". When I clicked that there was the option to switch it back to the default which is "gradual..." In a nutshell that's where the app changes things which is different from the engine coding change to Audi (which I couldn't seem to change).

Did you get something went wrong?
Plus there’s actually 2 parts to the Audi mod, one in the engine and one in the steering as you noticed, so guessing the app did both

I could select Audi, but it wouldn't save. The app appears to only change the value withing steering channel.

Do you remember what you did? My car is not accepting the code, I have a error 31 I think. I had the same error. I think what I did different this time was selected the second box then selected the Audi option from the drop down next to the first box. I'll try to hook the OBD11 back up and look at it.

Ycodryn, sorry it took so long to get back to you. Pretty sure what I did was check the second box (that shows a blank next to it), then tapped next to the first box and got the "VW/Skoda" option with "Audi" below it. I selected Audi then held the check mark at the center bottom of the screen and saved the value. I would try to revert it and do it again but knowing me I'll screw it up and be unable to change it to Audi again. Haha I didn't notice a huge difference with the change in my Alltrack. I did finally figure out how to use launch control last night which is more fun than the peddle change.
