Since we bought the 2006 VW Beetle (4 months now) it has only had one problem that we have been trying to fix and that is that the rear hatch/lid/trunk will not open with the key FOB. Now we have changed the batteries in both fob's and the LED lights blink steady. The drivers door rear lid switch will release (unlock) the lid without any problems. If we open the lid and set the latch to simulate it being locked and push the remote unlock button we get nothing not even the tail lights lights flash. If we use the door switch it will release the lock on the latch without any problem. Both front door locks work normally with remote and both door switches work also. So being a new owner of the OBDeleven the first thing we did was check the system for a fault code were it found nothing. So any guidance in digging a bit deeper into the rear trunk/lid remote problem as in maybe the code for that area to see if it is even active would be a big help for a newbie.
Cheers
Okay must be wasting my time

I guess I should ask if anyone knows how to view the codes or the area that shows the status of the rear lid. Just need to see if it is with any problems.

Well last I posted this it was 2018 and we still never got the Rear lid remote fob to unlock the lid. Small light flashes on the fob while trunk release button is held down. Not sure still what steps to take with the OBD installed, anyone?
