Is it possible to code the cockpit view function so that it maintains the "large round TAC" in the middle, rather than going to the more digital "race" view when changing modes? I can't see the RPM in the race mode because I'm tall and it's blocked by the wheel when in a good driving position.

definitely interested in this as well Can't see why they can't give you the option to select it

I know that performance related defaults can't be changed for emissions testing related reasons, but the internal cockpit view shouldn't be affected by that.

Not possible with coding. Only possible by modifiyng the FPA dataset at ecu 19. (not with OBD11)

Unless you know how to do this, only way around it is to disable this view entirely in control unit 19 > adaptations > view activation and I believe its view 9

So if view 9 is disabled, does the screen default to the Large tach screen ?

If I’m not mistaken it will just remain on whatever screen you’d presently be viewing when cycling the drive mode. I have a GTI so I can’t confirm

Ok, I'm going to look into doing that, because the "race mode" screen is basically useless to me. It's not just that it doesn't look good, I actually can't see what I need to see without moving the steering wheel and seat to positions that are sub optimal.

If you disable the R specific race tach view, whenever you switch into race mode the current view you are on does not change. If it was set to the round tach before, that is what it will stay on.

My bad! That was a typo. It is 17. I typed that while I was lying down about half asleep from taking a nap 🥴. Nevertheless you found it ok though?

No Worries, tried it and it works, make view 9 inactive and the last screen you were on is the default
