First of all, thanks to all who answered. Someone has suggested it to do with a new firmware that gives you options in the ZV Komfort menu Also if you translate bloccaggio from Italian it doesn’t mean blocking it means locking 😉 Well noted vwjap, that is what I meant. Where can I find more information about this (new firmware)? karlitos: Is this a duplicated question? - see my response to "freeway" to the very same question HEREDon Hi Don, indeed it is very similar. simonz82 is author of two videos about that. But did you watch the videos? As the carolco said below, my point also refers to the second line of the figure that is underlined in pink. Hi Don. The question is the next option.... Exactly carolco.

i suspect that is a vcp adaptation.

For those that don’t understand Italian what does it do?

you can use youtube subtitle translation in order to understand the video. in normal conditions the lights of the dashboard remain off when I turn on the position lighting, and also when I go with the car through dark places (garage/gallery). but instead the dashboard light are always on in daylight condition. It is a little bit strange, but as far as I know is to remember the driver to turn on the light in darkness condition...
this codification allow me to invert this. dashboard light with position light on and dashboard always on in darkness condition.
please someone can help me?

To enable dashboard light to still be lit during dark with position light Dash Board (17) -Adapation --Illumination_algorithm ---Scale_switching_algorithm ----Default value: Parking_light ----Change value to: lds

I don’t think it is a new firmware notice. It is true that in new cars appears a new text coding line like konfortliessen brasilien mode, in the adaptation of ZV Konfort, but I think that it is a combination of two or more options.

Sorry undme, Maybe my english skill doesn’t allow me to explain better my request. When lights position is off my dashboard is always illuminated in daylight conditions. When I drive into dark place (gallery or garage dashboard goes off. It is a strange behaviuor but as far as I know is a VW policy that remeber you to turn on the light in darkness condition. Now your coding allow me to have the dasboard on with lights in position mode. But I would like to have the dasboard automatic on when I drive through dark place (with light position off) . Pratically I want to invert the behaviuor of the dashboard ( off in daylight and on with dark)

I have not done that nor seen it before.
But my guess is you will have to play around with Dashboard -Adaption --Dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_.............
Always take a backup of the module incase something goes wrong you can revert back to default.

Pratically I want to invert the behaviuor of the dashboard ( off in daylight and on with dark) valisys: As VIC has correctly suggested, the solution to your problem MAY be the Dimming_characteristic_curve group of channels in the module @ address hex17 called "Dasboard" by OBD11). BUT - tweaking these channels can have unintended consequences on other aspects of display illumination in the car. So it really depends on how much you want your changes and how impacting these unintended consequences are on the safety features in the car.
It's easy to assume that the instrument panel behavior that you have observed is generated by the Light sensor that's installed on the windshield - but this is wrong! In fact, the windshield light sensor looks outwards into the environment.
There is another light sensor on a mk7 that looks inwards into the cabin interior and it is installed in the tacho dial between the "7" and "8" numerals - see my picture below
As indicated in my pic, this light-sensor is what's called a "photo-transistor" which is a semi-conductor device with a transparent body: the singularly useful feature of a photo-transistor is that it's a type of amplifier where the gain (i.e. amplification) is dependent on how much light hits the transistor's housing. Said less complicated, the photo-transistor changes the illumination of the dashboard (and the MIB screen) depending on how much light is in the cabin: the greater the cabin light- the more the dash is illuminated. The way that this happens in a mk7 (and in fact, in all MQB platform vehicles) is via the Dimming_characteristic_curve group of channels. During night-time conditions when its dark inside the cabin, there are a separate set of channels to control dashboard illumination.
It's easy to demonstrate how the photo-transistor works - simply shine a torch onto the area in my picture and you should see the dashboard get brighter
So - now that I have explained the theory - let's discuss a way forward with your question. As I understand your wants - if you change the settings on the Dimming_characteristic_curve channels to keep the dashboard illuminated when you enter a tunnel - you will remove the inbuilt safety feature that reminds the driver to switch-on the headlights during dusk. From my perspective - this seems to be not a good result to solve an occasional problem of entering a tunnel.
A better and far safer solution, seems to be to simply turn the rotary light switch (it's called "LDS") to the AUTO position, That way, when you enter the tunnel, the windshield light sensor will turn-on the headlights which will have the subsequent result of over-riding the photo-transistor's control of the dashboard illumination. When you exit the tunnel, the windshield light sensor turns-off the headlights and control of the dashboard illumination is returned to the photo-transistor. QED!!!

Thank you for the explanation. Really interesting! you are getting the point, even if I don’t think there is something of safer on remember me to switch on the headlight for two reason (drl always on and normally it never happened to forgot to turn on the light in dark condition). On the contrary I don’t find safer to have the dashboard suddenly off while I’m driving through a tunnel for example. Point of view for sure. If someone of you have already done this coding please write me. Thank you all

^^^ perhaps have a look HERE. The suggested changes were intended for daylight hours, but the principles in the instructions also apply to the night-time characteristic curve channels Don PS: There is only one person that is (or, can be) accountable for changes made with a diagnostic device : I accept NO responsibility for any consequences that may result from the changes suggested in my instructions

Dunno if true but I’m told it’s a different 09 firmware, or a VCP switch

Hi guys,
I have a 2019 Golf R variant (Australia). I'd like to do the following mods. I did find some coding instructions for these in the forum, but wasn't sure if they still apply for the 2019 model (variant)
- Scandinavian DRLs (Rear) - Speed sign recognition
I tried to enable the rear DRLs using the OBDeleven app, but it also turns on the number plate lights. Can I just turn on the rear lights only?
What's the latest speed sign recognition coding for a 2019 model. Would this work? forum.obdeleven.com/thread/5839/activating-traffic-assist-sign-recognition
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Kaz

kaz I have never done the "Speed sign recognition" so can't help you with that, hopefully someone else can help you For the " Scandinavia DRLs" Go into Control module - Centrals electrics (09) -- Security access = 31347 -- Adaption--- Leuchte23SL (Left outer taillight) ---- Dimmwert GH 23 = 127---- Dimming Direction GH 23 = Maximize---- Lichtfunktion G 23----- Default Value: nicht aktiv ----- Change Value: Tagfahrlicht
Now do the same for the rest of the rear lights Leuchte17TFL (Left inner taillight) Leuchte16BLK (Right inner taillight) Leuchte24SL (Right outer taillight)

I also came across this tweak for Easy Entry in the forums. I have memory seats, but this tweak is not working as expected.
Control unit: 36 Seat Adjustment Driver Side Values: Easy_Entry_front: change value to: active
Is this not available for the Golf R?

I don’t see a golf with 36 module. I see this module in Tiguan or Arteon.
Why don’t you share a backup of your module and see what can we do for your module?

Finally I get the footwell lights in the golf 7.5. In my car the codification in not simply like the mk7. The footwell lights are integrated in the configuration of ambient lights. The codification is more extensive....

Once you activate the cruise controls the ACC and LKU and all that take control, and all you have to do is rest your hand on the wheel. But if you take your hand off, the bets are off after like 30 seconds. So I am looking for increasing the time where the cars asks to put your hands back on the wheel, as otherwise the ACC and LKU will be disabled shortly after the waring if no action is taken.

This is not possible. Someone use a bottle with water to simulated the hands on the wheel. I don’t think it was a good idea. It is very dangerous. The car only have a type 2 autonomous driving

Hoping some one can give me a hand on my 2019 GTI S LED headlights retrofit.
I have everything wired up according to the VW 2019 manual. The LED lights are connected to an AFS module 7P6 907 357 D. The only thing I think I’m missing is the coding for module 19 CAN Gateway. If some one can PM/post a back up of there module 19 and possibly module 9 I would greatly appreciate it.
