Hi!
I've done the retro fit to install footwell lights in my 2018 Sportwagen following the DIY from mr-fix on Youtube.
Everything seems to work has it should (brigther when i open the door, works with automatice headlights, dim when door is closed, etc.).
But i can only dim them with the wheel next to the light switch and not with the head unit. I see the control in my car menu, but it does not work.
I've read on a forum that setting my OBD11 to development mode might do it, but i did not.
I was not able to do all the coding and adaptation from mr-fix DIY. Seems like there is no longer long coding in central Electric(09) control unit, only adaptation. I could'nt find one of the adaptation like in the video:
Adaptation → Channel: Ambient lighting - Defaultwert Ambienteprofil Fussraum → 100%
Cant seems to find the Ambient lightning adaptation...
Any clue or lead on what i should check?
Thanks

vincebrou :Hmm......... I'm confused!!! Maybe the best way of explaining this matter is to go back to basics. Yes, as you have correctly identified, the central electrics modules in MQB platform cars (like your your mk7.5) that were built after about mid 2016 lost their long-code string and these older software switches were moved to the adaptation channel database.
In these older central electrics modules, the relevant switch that told the central electrics module how the interior lighting illumination was controlled in a car was Byte 7, Bit 0-1 and the options were: - not installed=hex0
- Potentiometer=hex1
- Button=hex2
- HMI=hex3
On the newer central electrics modules, the relevant adaptation channel is Suchbeleuchtung_allgemein-Eingabemedium_Suchbeleuchtun and the permissible settings are again, the 4 x options above
So with the above words as reference, here's the thing regarding your question - the 4 x options above are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE (and for completeness of my explanation, the 3 x options are also "jointly exhaustive").
Mutually exclusive means in this case that it's possible to select ONE option only - it's not possible to select BOTH the potentiometer AND HMI (the MIB screen facility).
Bottom line: I'm happy to be advise otherwise by more informed colleagues - but my hunch is that you can't do what you want on a MQB platform car

EDIT
i found what i was doing wrong! In the adaptation Leuchte30FR LC72, i was setting the Lichtfunktion B30 to Dimmung Klemme 58xs instead of not active. Now my footwell lights are control through the MMI and apart from the interior lights!
EDIT
Thank you for your answer.
I did was able to find the adaptations i was looking for. I now see in my headunit the options to control my interior lights.
Sorry english is not my frist language, i might not have been clear.
I am guessing now that my problem is that my footwell lights are link to my interior lightning. Therefore when i'm dimming my interior lightning, with the potentiomèter or the head unit (dépending on wich option i chose in the adaptations), my footwell lights dim too.
What i would like is my footwell lights to be apart from my interior lights and i could adjust the first in my headunit and second with yhe potentiomèter...
Don't know if i make more sense or if you would know how to do it?
Thank you
