Hello
Last year I bought a Golf 7.5 gti 245 dsg. The sound aktor doesn’t work at all, I checked all settings in obd 11 (structure borne sound) and it’s set to 100%.
I already installed a new sound aktor but this also doesn’t work. The dealer installed a mode button to switch between the driver profiles but this also doesn’t activate the sound aktor.
When I do the output test with obd11 it doesn’t function.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

rmh : Hi There are a million ways that retrofitting a Soundaktor system can go wrong - so it ain't possible to be definitive in answering your question! This said, the Structure-born arrangement really isn't that complex from a physical wiring arrangement - see my wiring diagram below:
My suggestion is that you start by grabbing a multi-meter and check the 2 x power supply wires @ the 6 x pin connector.
If Volts are OK, your next task is to confirm that the Soundaktor module is talking to the Powertrain CAN bus. A SCAN report is probably the easiest way of doing this. Does the SCAN include a module called A9 Actuator for Structure-Borne Sound like this (your module might have different details):
-------------------------------------------------------------- A9 Actuator For Structure-Borne Sound
System description: SAS-GEN 2 Software number: 5G0907159 Software version: 0013 Hardware number: 4H0907159A Hardware version: H06 Serial number: 14050620216 ODX name: EV_SoundActuaGen2AU64X ODX version: 003010
Trouble codes: No trouble codes found ---------------------------------------------------------------
Are there any faults? If so, post-up the error messages

Hello Don.
The sound aktor is not retrofitted, it’s original. I think the previous owner turned it off with obd11, now I want to turn it back on but it doesn’t work, also the output test doesn’t work. I saw on the vwroc website that other people also have this problem.
When you set the aktor to 0% and want to activate it again with obd11 it doesn’t work.
I scanned the car but no fault codes. When I unplug the module or the aktor itself it produces a fault code.
Any other ideas?
Kind regards

rmh : OK - so I understand from your latest words that there are NO errors reported on the A9 module AND the module has accepted the 100% value. If this is the case, then I'm stumped because the module seems happy with it's physical/coding set-up. I guess the only further suggestion is to check the that the arm on the actuator is secure and that it physically seats onto the windshield (the windshield acts as the "speaker diaphragm" for the soundaktor)

Hello don,
I already checked it, it’s mounted well and also changed it out with another sound aktor but still no sound. It’s also weird that when I do the output test the app rejects it. It shows something like: function not available info length or format wrong.
Anyone else has this problem or the solution?
