Evening all. Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on why I couldn't get this to work earlier today. Car is a 2020 Golf FL Estate/SW. I used the apps via OBDeleven and wasted 50 credits trying the 10 colour and 30 colour V1,2 & 3 to see if it would work. I'm aware I don't actually have ambient lighting and my goal was to be able to change the colours on the screen. I ended up going back to original as the only thing it seemed to do was remove the options for door background lighting and footwell lighting dimming. Any info much appreciated. TIA.

Bonnet open? Different modules can cause it not to work as they keep renaming the menu addresses Try long coding

No bonnet not open. Just ignition on. Have you got a link to the long coding method please?

Yeah, open bonnet, then plug in adaptor, then connect, new “security” feature, came out in 2020

Thanks. I'll give it a go again tomorrow. Always learning about how things work on these. Came from a MK5 and used to coding with VCDS. One thing I have noticed, which is unrelated to this issue is when I go into long coding in 09 central electrics, there is no hex data. Just shows a string of 00's for every byte. This is with the security code enabled.

Yeah they swapped long coding to adaptions about 6-7 years ago
And it was vag-com back on the mk5 wasnt it? Think they had to change vag for legal reasons

That explains it then. Yeah I think it was back in the day. Still got the cable but it doesn't work with the newer protocols. Plus upgrading the cable is ridiculously expensive.
