Hi.

Apologies for long post and its about a tiguan but wondering if anyone has had issues with a golf that are similar

Wondering if anyone can help. My Tiguan has had some issues recently. I work offshore so my car often sits for 3 weeks at a time on one occasion The brakes started grinding when braking. My discs were a bit corroded so thought it was just that. It was intermittently throwing up faults like ESC ACC start stop errors that went away after a while.

Changed discs and pads all round on the car using OBDeleven to release parking brake. All was good for a couple of weeks then noticed a strong brake/clutch burning smell. Identified it as the rear left wheel. Found that the caliper was seizing and sticking the pads.

Changed the caliper for a new one and changed the brake fluid in the system. All was good for another week then when on the dual carriageway going uphill I got a load of faults flash up. Error Brake workshop, ESC error, Start stop error, hill hold assist error, error tyre pressure indicator, ACC not available, dynamic road sign display.

Plugged it in when I got home and there were quite a lot of errors stating databus error among other things. The brakes seem fine theres plenty brake fluid in the reservoir and electronic hand is working fine. I cleared the codes and all seemed well for a day and they came back. Checked again and seemed to be the same faults.

It comes up with about 11 control unit faults then when I reset them there are only 2 renaining that wont clear.

Im pretty new to using OBD eleven so still getting used to it

i realise that 1 tiny fault can through up loads of different faults for no reason.

Saw on other threads about the battery causing it battery seems to be ok but not used a load tester. Battery is bang on 12v all the time even on a cold morning.

My initial thoughts were that the ABS sensor could have been overheated or something cracked but using OBD Eleven i have established that I am still getting a reading from the wheel speed sensor

Again apologies for the long post. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction as its out of warranty and trying to stay away from the dealership ££. Fault codes are below

hmm....my observations say more about what's NOT included in your SCAN, rather than what conclusions can be drawn from the error codes that do appear in the report!!

Maybe it might be helpful if your read THIS?

To make sense of what's happening on a car with this many errors, you really do need the intelligence in the Freeze Fame data (IMO, of course)
