Hi all idk if this is the right place for this topic but forgive me if it is not .. so i have a mk7 FL golf (2018) and it came with no footwell lights and i was checking on the internet the ability to install them (rgb ones not the single color) and i found that it depends on the BCM , so i checked mine using obdeleven and found out this : after some googling on my bcm i found that : compatible with 10 colour: - 5Q0937084CD - 5Q0937084CE - 5Q0937084CF - 5Q0937084CG - 5Q0937084CM - 5Q0937084CN - 5Q0937084CP - 5Q0937084CQ compatible with 30 colour: - 5Q0937086BE - 5Q0937086BF - 5Q0937086BG - 5Q0937086BH - 5Q0937086BJ - 5Q0937086BK - 5Q0937086BL - 5Q0937086BM so i ordered this RGB lights from Aliexpress to test them : a.aliexpress.com/_mMPakwibut when they arrived and i tried to install i found that i don't have the plug c 29 pin which is for LIN so does this mean that my bcm does not support rgb footwell lights or there is something i am missing ? for example welding a pin on the 29 location (although i believe it's a stupid idea)? also i found this decoder for the CAN bus which should replace the LIN pin : www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003312269368.htmlwill this decoder work for my case ?

gooaq : Hi. hmm.......I've not done this project - but a I provide a few more-general comments for your consideration:
Your BCM is 5Q0937084CN and you include this PN on your list of "compatible with 10 colour" (are you from UK - spelling?). BCMs come in 3 x versions; low, medium and high. My understanding is that rgb requires a high level BCM. Your 5Q0937084CN is a medium version BCM (I think). OBD11 reports the BCM level on the SCAN report under the heading "System description". If your hex09 module is a high-level unit - it should say something like: System description: BCM MQBAB H.
Also - ain't no value "welding a pin on the 29 location" (you meant "soldering"-of course)! As a general comment, my experience has been that whenever a connector pin is missing on a module - the electronic components that are associated with the allied circuits for that pin are also missing. So simply soldering a pin onto the module motherboard (see below) does nothing -alas!
Not sure about the "codec" from Aliexpress - copy of Aliexpress pic below.
The device looks like a full CAN unit - it's not LIN. The 2 x Gateway wires confirm my hypothesis.
If I'm reading the pic correctly, the device appears to connect into the Infotainment CAN bus (pin #20 & #10 on Gateway module). So, I assume that it has nothing to do with the BCM. Instead, I assume that the device is driven directly via CAN messages from the MIB (i.e. LED illumination-level and color control is directly a function of the slider positions on the rbg MIB screen).
I have no actual experience with this device, so I have no idea if it will work - but theoretically, it should work!!
Don
PS: the Aliexpress pic shows 2 x socket pins on the Gateway wires - not sure where the mating pins for these CAN-low/CAN-high wires are meant to be located on the car. The actual pins on the Gateway module will already be populated by wires from the factory loom. I suspect that you will need to splice these CAN wires into the native car loom somewhere (maybe on the back of the MIB) - rather than use the pins shown in the picture!

But alas, your impressive (British & American) English language skills don't extend to "Strine" (look it up) !!!
