Evening All,
Currently my golf uses both the dipped beam and the DRL’s as the CH/LH lights, is there a way to change this so that only the DRL’s are used please?

Short answer - it depends whether the central electric module on your car controls the low-beam lights, or if these lights are managed by Light Control Modules (LCMs),
Longer Answer- Look at the setting for Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lasttyp 6 on the central electrics module. If the value of this adaptation channel is nicht aktiv, the lighting behavior of the low-beams is managed by LCMs - so, no luck!!
If the value of the channel is NOT as above, post-up screenshots of ALL the channels for the Leuchte-set above so I can see how they have been factory programmed - please

Jed: OK - try this on Leuchte6ABL LC5 (left-side low-beam lamp) and Leuchte7ABL RB1 (right-side low-beam lamp) - Lichtfunktion G > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
- Dimming Direction GH > Minimize

Don,
Thank you for your help - worked perfectly!
Do you know if there is a way to increase the brightness of the DRL’s in the CH/LH mode? They appear dimmed compared to when they are switched on as DRL’s during normal daily driving?

Jed: There maybe a way to do this - but it depends on whether the DRL lamps on your car are LED, or incandescent.
Again, I need to see how the relevant Leuchte-set for the DRL (on one car-side) is programmed because the settings vary greatly across vehicles and across different world markets
So, assuming the standard Leuchte-set assignments for an ordinary Golf mk7.5 - if your car has incandescent lamps for the DRLs, post-up Leuchte4TFL LB4. If the DRLs are LED, post-up the values for Leuchte2SL VLB10
And of course, I need to see the values for ALL 19 x adaptation channels in the Leuchte-set

Don,
Appreciate the help, thank you! Here’s both 2SL and 4TFL:
Leuchte2SL VLB10
Lasttyp 2 Not active
Lampendefektbitposition 2 0
Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 2 0
Lichtfunktion A 2 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion B 2 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert AB 2 0
Lichtansteuerung HD AB 2 Always
Lichtfunktion C 2 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion D 2 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert CD 2 100
Dimming Direction CD 2 Maximize
Lichtfunktion E 2 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion F 2 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert EF 2 0
Dimming Direction EF 2 Maximize
Lichtfunktion G 2 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion H 2 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert GH 2 100
Dimming Direction GH 2 Maximize
Leuchte4TFL LB4
Lasttyp 4 Not active
Lampendefektbitposition 4 0
Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 4 0
Lichtfunktion A 4 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion B 4 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert AB 4 0
Lichtansteuerung HD AB 4 Always
Lichtfunktion C 4 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion D 4 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert CD 4 0
Dimming Direction CD 4 Maximize
Lichtfunktion E 4 Nicht aktiv
Lichtfunktion F 4 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert EF 4 0
Dimming Direction EF 4 Maximize
Lichtfunktion G 4 Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
Lichtfunktion H 4 Nicht aktiv
Dimmwert GH 4 127
Dimming Direction GH 4 Maximize
I did try changing 4TFL LB4 Lichtfunktion G 4 to Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv, and the Dimmwert GH 4 to 127, but to no avail.

Jed: hmm.....clearly this is a car with LED type DRLs!
So, I hate to be the harbinger of bad news - but it doesn't look good!!! If you examine the values in your 2 x Leuchte-sets on your last post (particularly the Lasttyp and Lichtfunktion channels) - you will see the repeated word Nicht aktiv!
This means that the 2 x Leuchte-sets have been factory disabled - which also means that the central electrics module on this car doesn't control the DRL function.
Instead, I suspect that this car has separate Light Control Modules (LCMs) installed that manage the lamps in the headlight fittings. You should see a LCM for each car-side reported as a distinct module (with its own hex address) on the SCAN report. Alas, OBD11 cannot access the coding parameters on LCMs.
So, bottom-line: it ain't possible to change the DRL behavior on this car!

Don, Thank you for your reply, and not a problem! Massively appreciate the help with disabling the headlights, main aim achieved! Brightening the DRL's was just a nicety. Jed
