Hi!
I've install folding mirrors on my Canadian 2018 Sportwagen with a new driver door switch. I had to change my door modules to have the one finishing with 593/592 instead of 393/392.
I ordered my modules from Luthiania. I am pretty sure i ordered LHD ones.
Everything works fine, but for my right (passenger) mirror the control is inverted. When i move from side to side with the switch it moves the mirror up and down and vice versa. So the mirror dip in reverse modes the mirror to the left instead of down.
With the left (driver) mirror its find. It work like it should.
Ive coded my New modules exactly like the old ones...
Ive tried with my old non-folding mirror and its the same, inverted. I am guessing it is not the switch since it works find with the driver mirror. So i am guessing i have a faulty right door module or its not coded correctly?
Any tips?
Thanks

vincebrou : here is how to tell if the new passenger module was meant for LHD, or for RHD: So, to explain the German language labels in my picture (I think): - LL = LinksLenker= Left hand drive
- RL = RechtsLenker = Right hand drive
If your new module has the correct shaded-box, I suspect that the problem is the module dataset for the drive-side. Alas to change this firmware, the module will need to be re-parameterized which requires a dealer tool like ODIS

Right thanks! I have the right Square, on it.
So the fact that my module could be program to be in a RHD. Might explain the fact that when i move the switch side to side it moves the mirror up and down?

vincebrou : hmm........ not really You have not understood my explanation because I haven't explained the purpose of the shaded boxes clearly - my apology I'll try again: So, the door modules in both our pictures can be installed on cars that are both LHD and RHD, The purpose of the shaded boxes is purely to indicate which car-side is controlled by the module. In both our pictures, the shaded boxes confirm that these are "passenger side" modules - regardless of the car's drive-side. Separate to this, the dataset in the module then determines how the module will operate - this is where the actual drive-side becomes important. There are VW door modules that have firmware that can change the drive-side via a software switch in long-code (for your mk7/7.5, this is Byte 5, Bit 0). But if you have set-up the long-code for the new module the same as the old module and the switches are reversed (as you explain in your post) - then I suspect that the new module is not this type. So, your new module is probably the type where the dataset is drive-side specific - if so and because the switches operate in reverse manner, it means that the new module will need to be re-parameterized to suit the drive-side of your car (I'm guessing of course). However, because it's an easy try - I wonder what happens if you change the status of Byte 5, Bit 0 on your passenger module? I'm not sure, likely it won't work - but maybe give it a try (and revert the change back if it doesn't solve the problem) Don

Ok, i understand. Thanks.
I am using OBD11 for coding, so not quit sure which one is byte5,bit 0. Could it be the longcoding for the LHD/RHD?
Also, not sure if it means something, but i tried to plug in reverse my harness in the motor that move the mirror. That time, when i moved from left to right, the mirror moved from right to left and not up and down anymore....
My next step is to plug back my old module. The folding mirror wont work, but if everything else works fine, it would mean that what you explain is the reason why its mess up?
Thanks

vince: Byte 5, Bit 0 is the entry "steering" in the picture below (hope you are using Android - but IOS should be similar):

So, i ve tried to set the steering to right hand drive, but the mirror does not moves.
Ill try with my old module. If it works like it should, guess ill order à other module, trying to finf à LHD one. At 30$, i guess its way cheaper then to go to the dealer!
Thanks for your help!
