I had a first look at the version 1.0.0 of the OBDeleven BMW app today. Login with the existing account works, credits are there. However, the one way to get anything done on a BMW car obviously is by using one click apps and thus spending credits. There seems to be no way to directly access any control unit as we are used to in the VAG app (adaptation, long coding). Accordingly, there are no other plans than Basic, so your expensive PRO/Ultimate subscription doesn't mean anything. What I'm asking myself: is this - by design on behalf of BMW to protect their vehicles and/or (more likely) their intellectual property, so this will be the way to go in terms of BMW support by OBDeleven for all time?
- by design on behalf of OBDeleven to protect their investment and sell credits?
- due to the early stage of the BMW app and subject to change?
Maybe someone is able to shed some light on this. Thanks.

Can I use my current credits or PRO/ULTIMATE account with the OBDeleven BMW application?

You will be able to use your current credits for One-Click Apps on the OBDeleven BMW application.
The OBDeleven BMW application has only a basic plan, which means that your PRO or ULTIMATE plan will be available on the original OBDeleven application only with VAG vehicles.
Is this going to be the long term solution the only people who can answer that are the Support Team....
Hopefully somebody from Voltas can confirm.

Thanks bmwuser, I do know that FAQ answer. Unfortunately it just states the current situation but doesn't provide any hint about reasons and possible changes in the future. Another huge issue of the BMW app seems to be the complete lack of any information on the supported models and corresponding features besides very generic statements about the supported brands and car series provided here. To know the available features (if any) with your given car (other than clearing fault codes), you'll need to purchase the 2nd gen OBD11 dongle and connect it to your car first, so if you are new to OBDeleven, you're purchasing the pig in a poke. When it comes to the VAG app, you can download the app for free and have a look at every supported car model of any VAG brand and the respective list of apps (some of them are of course dependent on the availability of specific car features), so you know what you're getting. And of course, with your Pro/Ultimate account, you're always free to do long coding and adaptation without the need of apps and credits whatsoever. At first sight, the eagerly anticipated BMW support seems to be rather disappointing.

Hey there,
for now, there is no plan to add any manual codings for BMW. You will be able to read/clear faults and use already created One-Click Apps, which we are constantly working on adding more and more.
Maybe, somewhere in the future, manual coding could be an option, but as I mentioned before, there are no plans for this to happen any time soon.
There will be added more information about supported vehicles on OBDeleven.com soon.

You can update the OBDeleven BMW application by searching this app on the play store, and you will find the UPDATE button near the app, and you will get the latest application version.

You have mentioned elsewhere that there is an issue with users in the UK not being able to use the app till it goes fully live. I have checked google play store and I cant see the update button is this related to the above issue
probd i have asked support directly and this is the response.
Me
Just to clarify currently all the documentation only talks about scanner and OCA but just want to ensure that in the end (not looking for dates) it will support full coding like other BMW Tools.
Support Hello, By using our OBDeleven BMW application, you will be able to use such functions as: scanning, clearing, and looking up fault codes, customization features available with One-Click Apps. There will be no manual coding added.
Me Thank you so to be clear there are no plans to support coding
Support No, we do not have such plans.

Try to clear the Google Play store cache and check again if you will be able to get the 1.0.1 update.
