Is there a way to add the function to temporarily remove the electronic “engine sound”, making the car completely silent?

Hello, no it's impossible you will find yourself in violation and you risk a nice fine in case of control Is this true? I know that in for instance Renault Zoe, there is a button (physical button) to turn off the external sound. By default it is turned on the next time you start the car, but still possible to turn off easily. How about Tesla - does the later year models have sound installed (older models doesn't)? What rules really apply here actually / what does the law say?

Law/regulations says that cars produced after a date, or delivered after, thank i was 1. Juli '20, shall have this sound to be type approved.
Meaning, removal of it will affect car type approval; hence make car illegal to drive without a new approval...
