Hi, with the combination of the DP MIB2 and the Business Telephony, you are able to put a SIM Card in the head unit and use this connection for Car Net and a Wifi Hotspot. The build in modem is able to provide 2G and 3G connection with my provider, as I have seen the 3G logo in the display and was able to use the hotspot with decent speed. Sadly, I have played around recently with another App, providing some coding options. I think this has broken the said connection to remove the 3G connection and falling back to 2G connection. I have not changed anything related to this feature but still - nothing to be done with that app to revive my connection or going back to default. Before going to the dealer and actually making them understand (they are doing cars, not computers ), I would like to know my chances to solve my problem on my own. I already have OBDeleven in my cart, but still, I would like to know if it can help me with my problem before making another purchase. I would like to know if in the Infotainment or Telephony there are parameters known for the Business Telephony module which might restrict network operation, like 3G UMTS Operation, a regional radio band description or something else with is just messed up As 2G is working at its best, still providing all services from Carnet and the Hotspot, this should be a issue with the built in modem. Hi I know this is 3 years old but I have the same problem on my golf GTE. I used obdeleven to unlock the off-road screen (only way to have a temperature gauge on the GTE) and since then my onboard SIM card and carnet functions are busted .. I tried removing the fuse 16 to reset it but it didn't help much. Can anyone here help or should I just go to the dealer?

For me, nothing helped at all - really invested hours in this. they changed the unit because of some GPS issues not related to his.
Maybe you can undo all steps according to your history in the app? If this does not help, ask for am SVM update of the navigation at the dealer. If they know what to do, this is a task of maybe half an hour
