Hello all Now my Tiguan DRL is always on while turn signal on. I would like to change DRL to flash when turn signal on. But can not find good example from search. Below is my export from ODIS(would be same as OBd11), not sure change which channel.
any suggestions welcome, I will try it.
thanks

Same boat. Not had any luck too. I've kept my eyes on a Russian forums for some hope. However, I've seen some coding there but have not tried it on my car yet.

tcokervw I got someone reply me in facebook, he told me since the light control's lasttyp is "no active" default, so there should not to be controlled by BCM. Even I changed the lasttyp to what I want it. But it still can't work. One alternative way is to flash Fog light with turn signal. Change: LB45 Lichtfunktion G12 = Blinken Links Dunkelphase Dimmwert GH 12 = 127 RB5 Lichtfunktion G13 = Blinken Rechts Dunkelphase Dimmwert GH 13 = 127 But I have not tried this, I will find time to try it.

I tried today, I modified below(The Fog will flash with turn signal in the same time, if use DunkelPhase, it will have delay flash) LB45
Lichtfunktion G12 = Blinken Links Hellphase Dimmwert GH 12 = 127
RB5
Lichtfunktion G13 = Blinken Rechts Hellphase
Dimmwert GH 13 = 127

Hi there. As I´m also interested in this mod I´m going to add my thoughts on that matter. Thanks to tcokervw for posting a link where you can find lot of info about flashlight coding. On that page you can see that for MID LED ligts which most of you have fitted, the DRL lights are set in Leuchte8FL LB39 / Leuchte9FL RB2, you can confirm it by looking at the wiring diagram for the headlights, where you can see that the J667/J668 OUTPUT MODULE FOR HEADLIGHT controls/powers the DRL/SIDE lights and TURN SIGNALS and is indeed connected to the BCM/J519/PIN2 for left DRL/SIDE light or J519/PIN39 for the right DRL/SIDE light, it can be seen at the adaptation log also.DRL lights or SIDE lights are formed by 6LEDs (2 forms the U signature around the dipped/main beam unit and 4 forms the L signature from the upper edge of the headlight). Only difference is that when they works as DRL the power rating is 4W (U shape)+8W (L shape) and when they works as side lights the power is 0,4W (U)+0,8W(L). All of that can be found on internet at self study programme 553 and wiring diagrams. So in my opinion if someone wants to change the DRL behavior it must be done in the mentioned leuchte sets Leuchte8FL LB39 / Leuchte9FL RB2 at least for MID headlights. What I would try if I were brave enough is to change/add: FOR RIGHT DRL Leuchte8FL LB39: Lichtfunktion E 8: Blinken rechts Hellphase Lichtfunktion F 8: nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 8: 0 Dimming Direction EF 8: minimize FOR LEFT DRL Leuchte9FL RB2: Lichtfunktion E 9: Blinken links Hellphase Lichtfunktion F 9: nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 9: 0 Dimming Direction EF 9: minimizeNOTES: 1. The A27/A31 units controls the DIPPED/MAIN BEAM LED unit+ADDITIONAL MAIN BEAM+STATIC CORNER LIGHT LED module for the RIGT/LEFT headlight respectively. 2. SIDE light=PARKING light 3. I could be completely wrong about everything , but it must be possible if they were able to code things shown on the video posted by denis1 4. hmm............ lot's of interesting information in the posts above - but I want to add perhaps a different perspective to those who have failed in their attempts to change stuff. First, I want to say that it's fantastic that folk want to learn about Leuchte-programming. It's a programming language that is relatively simple - but it's nevertheless a powerful instruction set and there is no "official" Leuchte-manual in the public domain (that I can find- but happy to be advised otherwise). So forum-threads like this are a great community resource! Second, Leuchte-programming was introduced into MQB platform cars way back in 2013 with the first version of the Golf mk7. Since then, other VW/Audi models have been translated to MQB (like the 2nd gen Tiggy) and there have been a number of new CAN based innovations on MQB platform cars that have impacted the way the 35 x exterior lights are managed.
Important amongst these CAN based innovations was the introduction of LCMs (short for Light Control Modules). These modules appear in OBD11 scan reports with names like Light Control Right, or Light Control Left . In cars that have LCMs fitted, the central electrics module @ address hex09 does NOT control the lamps in headlight fittings - which means that the allied Leuchte-sets in the module are factory disabled. Alas, OBD11 cannot be used to access the coding values in LCMs
So - if the car has LCMs, it's not possible to change the behavior of lamps in headlight fittings (like DRL LEDS) via Leuchte-programming because there are no wire connections made to the sockets on central electrics module. Instead, these wires are terminated on the LCMs

Leuchte8/9 are for drl Leuchte6/7 are for dipped beam , codings work well without errors , i tried today So, which leuchte is for high beam ? I can’t seem to find it for MID LED

I also think i got the error because you missunderstood the names Leuchte8FL is for LEFT and Leuchte9FL is for RIGHT not the other way around , like you said I think if i code Leuchte8FL blinken links ( not rechts ) hellphase , it should work without errors I will give it a try tomorrow and comeback with info I swear one day i will blow my car up lmao 😂😂

So back to the original post to make DRL blink with turn signal, make this:
Leuchte8FL LB39: Lichtfunktion E 8: Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion F 8: nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 8: 0 Dimming Direction EF 8: minimize
FOR LEFT DRL Leuchte9FL RB2: Lichtfunktion E 9: Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion F 9: nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 9: 0 Dimming Direction EF 9: minimize
With this I've got my DRL wink with turn signal without any errors. Only backdraw is that that when hazard lights are active the DRLs will blink too, which may be confusing.

Hi denis1. No I was right. Leuchte8FL is the right side light and Leuchte9FL is the left side light. Now I must find out how to code the DRL to dim when turn signal active, which was my original goal. I have tried with Blinken rechts aktiv (beide Phasen) instead of blinken rechts dunkelphase but it didn't work. Maybe it must be used in the upper function pair (CD). I will try it later.

I will try in 2-3 hours and tell you anyway

You can check it yourself, look at your admap for those lights, where it says parking light rechts, links. Or look at the above wiring diagrams for the lights and compare the connector pinouts which corresponds with the Leuchte numbering.

Hello Denis & Robo Thanks for your comments, I am not sure if I got wrong information or not. I got the light definition as below. The Leuchte8FL LB39 is High beam Front Left The Leuchte9FL RB2 is High beam Front Right Maybe it is different definition for different car model. BTW, It is good news you get it works, I will find time to try it. Thanks

Hello denis1. I'm glad that you have got it working. To answer your 1st question why it's listed in reverse, I think it is just a typo error. 2nd question leuchte set for high beam is Leuchte6ABL/7ABL. Dipped and main beam leds are in one module, dipped 7Leds, main 4Leds, when main beam is activated all 11LEDs are active.

Thanks for answering my questions ,but if Leuchete 6/7 ABL are for both , which lichtfunktion is for high beam ? I tried to make low beam blink by changing same names as i did to leuchte9 , and it worked , but it worked only for low beam . I can post a vid if interested

I am interested to see how your DRL WINK looks like. This is mine but i have reverted back to default coding.
Here is the link.
Secondly, Is it possible to use the DRL long light(the one that looks like an eyebrow) as a DRL pulse and has it been tried by anyone?

Hi. As for the coding look a few posts above. You can also dim the DRL to 25 but you cant turn them off while the turn signal is active.
