testeronline, I wish I knew your name, I hate talking impersonally.
Anyway, mine works Identical to yours, except for the fact that I only have 1 car in my garage. I tried it 3 times today, and the middle time it connected and the quickly disconnected, but I was able to reconnect (same sequence) and it held for the whole session. I also expressed my dislike to whoever holds the handle of OBDEleven on VWVortex forums.
It is usable, but less than optimal. If I wrote software like this I would have never made the tenure that I did with my company (31.5 yrs).
Bob.

Name is Ron.
Agreed with my political hat this is less than optimal I think we all feel the same if we are being honest.
This release has been very poor, maybe they all took a summer holiday and did not get back into the groove.
I have worked on the front line delivering both code, rollouts and support to users who were very happy to come up to me personally and tell me if that was a pile of sh*t delivered.
If this release went through the Beta test route then Voltas need to review if they have the right people and are paying attention to issues.
Hopefully Thursday is going to be a better day

Ron, I get it that sometimes things get through the cracks. But things as obvious as failing to connect and then not communicate with the vehicles control units, well, that's what the tool is all about. But even more disturbing to me, is the total lack of remorse for putting users in that situation. If "someone" would have manned up and come to the forum and say something with a positive tone, I think it would make a lot of customers take that "OK, I'll patiently wait for the update" attitude. Something maybe to the effect of "We apologize for the issues, but we have XX number of people looking into these issues and will try our best to give a good estimate as to when they WILL be fixed". Instead, that "someone" came out and said "Glad it's working for you now, for further issues contact [email protected]" If I had taken that attitude, I would have pissed off some of the largest corporations in the world (McDonalds, KFC, Chic-Fil-A...to name a few). Everyone makes mistakes. GOD knows I did. It's how you handle them that makes all the difference. I'll step off my pedestal now... Bob.

Just had the following feedback from the support team.
Our developers are working on it, we do not have an estimated time yet, unfortunately.

I got contacted by OBDEleven on VWVortex. He advised that the Dev Team would be contacting me directly by email to help solve the issues.
Cross your fingers!
Bob.

I chased up support this morning and the response was they have upgraded the issue to Critical (guessing enough people have complained) and they were hopefull it would get fixed today, but time will tell.
I also pointed out there communication let them down and they did admit that they could do better and are working on it.
Fingers crossed all gets fixed today and no more server issues.

Yes Bob, I was just amazed to see that OBD are being active on other forums but not on there own so i joined in there.
I will come back on that forum with details.
Time in uk is 12:05 its 14:05 in Lithuania, but in fairness to them they have been known to work long hours to fix issues.

I also found it odd that they spend time over on the VWVortex forum. I expected someone to keep their eye on the BUG ISSUE sections here. Strange.

I suspect money is behind it, they are trying to sell more units, anyway fingers crossed they get it sorted before the weekend when I suspect more people will come across the issue.

You could be right Ron, but to be honest, if you scroll through those 46ish pages of that thread, you won't find "them" until the last page or so.. I believe they have "vendor" status, but from what I've seen, they pretty much let the members sell their product for them. Not knocking it by any means. If the product IS that good, it can sell itself....

They were poking around on VWVortex again a bit ago. I'm sure by now they know who we are. Hopefully our presence will let them know that we care...

Hey Ron!! Great news Thanks!!!! I know this is going to sound crazy, but I think I'll wait for it to hit the PlayStore. I realize it "should" be the same file and act the same way, but since the PlayStore is the normal transfer tool, I'd like to do it that way. I'll let you know WHEN I get it installed and the outcome of my testing... Bob.

No problem, for your information this is the APK provided by OBD11 because the UK is often a couple days behind when they do a release so they kindly provided this one, which when it comes on Play Store will be updated.
But if you are not sure best to be safe, good news is its on its way and Google is now the delay not OBD11

Understood. I have some other things to do today anyway, but if I find that it hits the US Playstore yet today, I will be sure to nab it and give it a whirl. In my Private Conversation with OBDEleven on VWVortex I thanked him for his handling of the situation and asked that he not be upset with the poor Google rating I supplied and then amended. I was just trying to get someone's attention and the CHAT and the CONTACT email didn't seem to be working. Thanks again for doing what you did Bob.

Quick question. I know you have in your sig "Always do a backup First" I have to admit, I did not. But I (and the app) have kept track of all my few changes and are easily changes back. My question is, about how long does a FULL BACKUP take? And do I need to have the car running the whole time? I have yet to do a SCAN either, I started one, but it was taking FOREVER, so I bailed.

Yes I always recommend a full backup, if things go wrong for what ever reason you have a file with the settings as they were when you got the car. Yes History is very good and I use it a lot but if you ever use an app all it will show you is the app you used not what changes the app made. Full backup takes about 30 minutes but it does depend on how strong your internet connection is. If you cant spare that much time then you can do a backup of each control unit one at a time, over time for the same result. Personally I always do full backup with engine running or others use a backup power supply as it has been known for the backup to fail if the battery power goes low. You dont need to do lots of full backups, just when you have the car set to the point you would want to revert it, but again you can just do the control units you are playing with to get the same result. FYI if you get yourself in a mess you can copy and past the long coding from your backup files but adaptation have to be reversed manually one at a time. I have a web site with some details of the common stuff that people have issues with

Well, I was considering using this (I used it on my now defunct winter car):
amazon.com/gp/product/B0756PV96N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What do you think? It kept my winter car's battery fresh as ever and I never started it (for about 3 months each year).

I don't plan on using APPs if I don't have to, and for the 21's, there's only 11 right now, and I don't care much for any of them...lol

looks ok but to be fair I know nothing about these things other than some people use them.
As I say I personally have the engine running (often with the car moving) as long as you have good internet connection.

Back to business. Received the update sometime around 3:45 pm EST 9/17/21 Installed without an issue. Installed dongle, turned on, but did not start the car. Started the app. Hit CONNECT. App requested Bluetooth, granted. (I have my dongle set to PURPLE, and it almost immediate went from RED to PURPLE) Waited for over 4 minutes for a connect, it DID NOT connect. I exited the program (by minimizing and swiping away). Restarted program. Hit CONNECT and a connection was established very quickly (not sure why this didn't happen the first time). I have found that once my system connects, it always show that I have lower than normal battery voltage, like in the 11.3-11.4 range. I measured and found it to be well above 12 (like 12.5), so I tried to use the CALIBRATE feature, but afterwards it still reads low (same 11.3-11.4 volt range). Is this a bug or am I missing something?
I accessed a random control unit (I believe it was the drivers seat) and got data almost immediately.
Fairly happy with the result, I arrowed back and exited using the RED circle in the bottom left hand corner (is this the preferred method of exit?).
Not sure how I feel about the first NO connect, but I will attempt more tries later today or Sunday (other things going on tomorrow).
That is all for now...
Bob.
