I had a 16 GTI for five years. I just sold it. I had an Obd11 that the new buyer asked me if he could have, since I had it for 4 years. So I gave it to him. I just bought a new VW JETTA R line. I also bought a new Obd11 and when login, my old car is in the garage an I cannot connect. How do I change the car in the garage to the new Jetta. Also will I lose the 386 credits I had. Thanks for any help. Chuck

If you just gave them the dingle then your old car will stay in your garage.

Ok, I get that, but how do I register my new car in the new OBD11? There has to be a way to do that. Just like if someone lost their dingle and sold their car to buy a new car and dingle?

Android. I did have wifi and bluetooth on, location I don't remember, I'll check in a few minutes. It did pair with the dingle, but never connected. There has to be a work around for something like this. I never gave it a thought when the guy asked me if he could take it, in case he wanted to reverse some changes

Sorry I am out and about so slow to answer.
If you have black dongle then you don't need to pair
Just open app and hit connect button

I just tried again, nothing, it just spins. I even had the ubc cable plugged in, but it doesn't connect. If I click the menu(tri bar) in the upper left hand corner and click garage, it does show my GTI in there. I don't know if I have to add the new car first(I didn't see any way to do that. It just spins while trying to connect.

Make sure you have latest version of app
Go main menu / device and delete all dongles
Go garage and swipe left on your old car to remove it from garage
In android do a cache clear
When you plug in dongle check lights on
Try again
If not working in app select obdelevendevice and select issues connecting to vehicle

I finally got it to work using some of what you suggested and a few things that I found on Youtube. I have the Jetta in the garage, but they only go to year 2018, I have a 2021 'R' line. I did see 'R' line for a few other VW models and I think up till 2020. I tried a few things like needle sweep and lowering mirror in reverse, just to see if it works. Nothing worked, so did I waste my money buying this or are they going to update it with current years and models?

you need to talk to support using in app help function about your car not being listed.
Were you using apps or actually coding and either way did you have you hood open otherwise it wont work if the america's have the same setup as europe

I figured it out I have the old original OBD11. ECS tuning had it listed for new cars. I didn't know the was a Gen 2. So, I called ECS sent it back and ordered a GEN2 OBD11. Hopefully there won't be too many issues with this.

I doubt the change of dongle will make a difference (unless there was a fault with the old one) but happy to be proved wrong.
In the mean time i would suggest you talk with support and ask them to add your vehicle

It does make a difference. I asked that question to the OBDeleven folks on Facebook. This was their reply: OBDeleven
Hello, it would be OBDeleven Next gen PRO.

Hopefully it will make a difference but this is what OBD11 Say on there help files: What is the difference between devices? The first generation device (white) can work only with Android and can support Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Škoda, Lamborghini, and Bentley. The next-generation device (black) can work with Android and iOS. The next-generation can support Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Škoda, Lamborghini and Bentley and will support more car brands in the future. Our next goal is to add the BMW. The functionality of the devices is the same.
