Hi! I have AUDI Q5 2010 QUATTRO 2.0 TDI CAHA S-Tronic 0B5 Transmission and I noticed that changing gear form P to D or R I can felt a impact . I found that Basic settings adaptation can help to solve this issue. Long term solution will be to replace/renovate multi-plate clutch and mechatronic. But I would like to start with this software solution Can Someone done this using ODBeleven application on this type of gearbox? (DL501 , 0B5 20 TDIRdW H/W number 0B5927156E version H03, SW number 8R0927156N SW version 0002) I found many comments that on ODB it is not working , I read description on Ross-Tech and other sources So I'm looking now for guidance from someone who did this on this model of gearbox

Hey! It looks like I am the owner of the same Q5 and I had the same problem while traveling 2000 kilometers from home ... I suddenly had strange pauses and jerks when changing gears ... I was lucky that I took Obd11 with me ... No mistakes he didn’t show me ... but I still decided to do something ... everything turned out to be very simple, in block 02 of the transmission control electronics, you need to go into the basic settings, there are several items, you need to start them all one by one and wait for completion EVERY process. The conditions for carrying out these adaptations must be met: the oil temperature in the gearbox must be at least 30C, the handbrake must be on, some operations must be done with the ignition on, and some must be started ... I don’t even I hoped that something would work out for me and all the time it seemed that it would get even worse because it takes a very long time and you can hear and feel how the gearbox clicks something there and sometimes the engine speed rises. After all these manipulations, errors appeared that were easily removed and did not appear anymore, now the gearbox works very smoothly, I was satisfied. And yes, all the problems started after a heavy camper trailer on mountain roads. Good luck! Write how you can do it.

Hi! I try to do Basic settings but most don't work. I do different combinations of below:
0. Check errors/foults in Transmission andengine - no errors, other systems exept right mirror = no foults
1. Erase counter for start and stop processes --> not working, error code Function not available (I have PRO version of ODB SW -up to date; oil temp when I was checking was in range 30-50 [several checks]); ignition on, gearbox set to P, parking brake on [even try to in addition to hold brake pedal], temp in window, engine off [even try with engine on ] 2. Main pressure valve calibration --> start working, engine rpm grows, oil temp ~45C, parking brake on, engine running. After 20-40seconds processes stopped and get message "exited due to reasons of safety"; even try to hold brake pedal on , all doors close 3. Clutch valve calibration -> start working, engine rpm grows, oil temp ~45C, parking brake on, engine running. After 20-40seconds processes stopped and get message "exited due to reasons of safety"; even try to hold brake pedal on , all doors close 4. Distance sensor calibration --> working properly , process starts and ends properly 5. Clutch engagement point adaptation --> works properly , when start see in live data whole adaptation process [see pictures adaptation status] But found few strange things: 1. In live data Clutch 1/2 lower adaptation point see "Not available" upper adaptation point value is available [see picture] 2. After clutch adaptation car behaves better on D gear - fuel consumption drops from ~1,4 to ~1,0-1,2 L/H when car stays on gear, speed 0 , brake engage; all gears are more smooth and shifts better but only on warmed gearbox - transmission fluid temp >60 C 3. But when starting cold it is worse - D gear + brake pedal on = fuel consumption ~1,5-1,6 L/H ; when you shift first time R after engine run with brake pedal on you feel that clutch start working you can fill hit and you see rpm are going down , and finally engine off.

Today I will try to do only Distance sensor calibration and Clutch engagement point adaptation as soon as fluid temperature will reach 40C - fingers crossed that will help and solve issue on cold fluid (... especially that I have to use reverse gear when driving out from garage ).
Still looking for solution to make using OBDeleven:
- Erase counter for start and stop processes - Main pressure valve calibration - Clutch valve calibration and do not get message... "exited due to reasons of safety"
...maybe if I will seat at back or at right side (at passenger seat) this will help
BTW
actros1848 (or anybody else) can you check and tell/write if you see values in field Clutch 1 lower adaptation point & Clutch 2 lower adaptation point? please

Just after second Distance sensor calibration and Clutch engagement point adaptation. Both task done when fluid temperature 40C - hope this will help on cold transmission fluid Clutch 1 and Clutch 2 Adaptation status ==> Engagement point broken in (takes 10-15 minutes ) *Hot fluid == better shifting and clutch working Cold fluid == ... we will see What I noticed, my second observation, after Clutch 1/2 lower adaptation point see "Not available", is that Clutch 1/2 upper adaptation point is still changing (even both clutches have status Engagement point broken in). And trend is to rising both values, after I reached Engagement point broken in they raised around 0.1 -0.15 bar - and still changing. *NOTE:If doing Clutch Adaptation status: 1. Use manual shifting 2. Start adaptation from 4th gear, set engine RPM ~1800 to ~2000 rpm and constant speed - try to hold constant rpm's and speed 3. Second clutch start adaptation from 5th gear set engine RPM ~1800 to ~2000 rpm - try to hold constant rpm's (I do this ~2000 rpm and ~75 km/h) 3. Process starts automatically, when final steps like precision adaptation and further step will move faster when maintain constant engine rpm and vehicle speed ==> when it starts You will see that on second clutch presser will be fluctuating, this means that adaptation process is running Whole process takes me 10-15 minutes Still no luck to do:Erase counter for start and stop processes Main pressure valve calibration Clutch valve calibration

Hi, thanks for the posted information!
I have an Audi A6 with the same gearbox.
How is the clutch now when cold?

Hi Finally I go to gearbox service (not Audi or ASSO) . They take out gear box and check hydromechanical unit - leak on vales was found . ... And small clutch was found to be burned 😂 Both clutches was replaced and hydromechanical unit was also replaced for refurbished one . Now car is working great. No issues So at the end ... Small malfunction of hydromechanical unit - valves do not fully close , leakage and small clutch burned . In my opinion changing a little bit automatic shifting will help a lot to keep small clutch in good condition. If only shift down from second gear to first will happen when speed will be around 15km/h . Not wait to 6-7km/h this will help to extend life of small clutch .... I see on YouTube that gear shifting adaptation is possible but this have to be done by someone who knows how to change gearbox behavior map

I just did this procedure tonight and initially couldn't get 'Main pressure valve calibration' and 'Clutch valve calibration' working but the solution was simple - before swiping to start you need to open the drop down list and chose 'Calibration'. It doesn't make much sense as the default state of that list has a descriptor saying - Calibration - but in fact it's not actually selected - you need to pick it up explicitly and then it'll work.
So basically I went through the whole process based on that video from ECS Tuning when they did the Audi adaptation with VCDS but all the steps are exactly the same on OBDEleven. It seemingly improved the transmission behaviour on my 2018 Audi A5 when I took it for a ride after it was competed but even after driving it for 2.5 hrs I couldn't get a 'Done' message in the Adaptation point status values - it was showing - 'First major step, negative value' for one clutch and 'Second major step...' for another or something like this, I don't remember exactly the phrase. So I have an impression that the adaptation didn't finish for some reason but I wasn't checking it constantly while driving so I can't say for sure what was happening there and whether it actually finished.
We'll see how it drives tomorrow.

Hi I have the same problem for erase counter / main pressure valve / clutch valve calibration. Did you ever get to the bottom of it? Also (and probably more significantly 😂) after doing the other steps I think successfully, the clutch engagement adaption status immediately reads "engagement point adapted with synchronising procedure" Which doesn't look like it's reset or in the process of adapting. Unfortunately I didn't think to check the status before I started 🙄 Any thoughts?
