Hi everyone, I am really struggling when I have to find the lights in a car as for example there are various "leuchte" names and I don't know which one is the one I am looking for. How do you guys know what's the correct one when you are coding? is there any file which explains those?
Thanks in advance

Thank you Testeronline, my mainly problem was finding those informations, but thanks to the links you provided, now I just type the car model and the word "leuchtenzuordnung" and I found everything I need. Thanks again.

William: Let's keep this a secret between you and me (don't tell anyone else) - but there's actually a very easy way to determine which Leuchte-set applies to which light on any type car. The secret is in the name of the Leutche-set Here's an example: Leuchte3SL VRB21
Notice B21 - this identifies the pin on the BCM that the Leuchte-set controls; specifically in this example, the Leuchte-set controls pin #21 on Socket B on the BCM. So it's simply a matter of finding this pin in the wiring diagram and presto it tells you which lamp this Leuchte-set controls (it's that easy)!!

Thank you DV52 for this precious information, really appreciate it. I only have one more question about this topic: what do the letters A, B, AB mean when going into adaptation of a leuchte? for example: in the adaptation of "leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9" there is "lichtfunktion A 16", "lichtfunktion B 16", "dimmwert AB 16" and so on. what's the function of those channels? Hope that this question is useful also to other members. Thanks in advance

William: Arrh............ you certainly do ask the BIG questions !!!! I occasionally run training sessions for members of a local forum who have an interest in Leuchte-programming. The structure of my lessons is a short presentation on theory after which time I let students loose on a MQB platform test-bench that I built some years ago - see below.
Because the test-bench provides an "artificial" learning environment, students are allowed to try whatever Leuchte programming options they choose without fear of breaking something!! However, to instill professional and proper practices, I always insist that the test-bench is left in its original state before a student terminates a session! So far, no one has managed to break the test-bench!!! Anyhow, to your question - here is a picture from the theory part of my lesson. As you can see, the structure of a Leutch-set is quite deliberate with 4 x "Banks" of possible lighting functions and with each "Bank" capable of 2 x different lighting functions, which can then be controlled in what I call "Alpha-pairs"

Hi, I had the same problem as William00, but still I can't understand what's the function of every letter. On the graph that you shared (dv52) it says that alpha A,B,C,D have a "lamp function", but what's this lamp function or which lamps it it talking about? also what does "illumination profile" means and what is it used for?
sorry for my low knowledge but I can't really understand that.
thanks in advance

Just to add to dv52 (Australia) Very informative feedback (as always) you guys should all get used to the fact that VW Are always changing stuff, sometimes small changes sometimes big so any coding also needs to understand what the setup was at that point in time.
Specifically in relation to this thread the Leutch-set the new Golf MK8 is different to previous versions of the setup (Don hope you don't mind me using your previous analysis).
