Is there anywhere I can find something with the above details, mainly to do with lighting? I have a Passat B8, but there's not a huge amount going on in that section of the forum. Are all MQB cars using similar modules/coding? For example, would the coding and the logic that goes with it be similar on a Passat B8 be the same as a Golf mk7?

mrdurst : Hi - excellent questions, thanks for asking!! First - you need to understand that the manufacturer doesn't publish any official material (at least AFAIK) regarding the way that the 35 x exterior lights on MQB platform vehicles operate.
ALL of the information that is known in the public domain about what I have called "Leuchte-sets" (which is the programming language that VAG uses to control lighting) has been guessed/discovered/pilfered by amateurs (me included) largely on forums like this. So, the best (only?) learning process for Leutche-programming is by reading the stuff that's published on-line in forums.
As for your question about the B8 (and mk7)- mercifully, the answer is "yes"; there will be a degree of similarity between the Leuchte-sets on both vehicles. This said, you ought not expect 100% success by translating mk7 tweak instruction to your Passat because the nomenclature for Leuchte-sets enforces a strict protocol for labeling . Without getting into the arcane naming convention, a part of the protocol identifies the actual pin number on the module that the Leutche-set controls and likely this will be different for some of the lamps on both models.
So, my suggestion is whenever possible, use tweak instructions that have been authored specifically for the B8 - but if not possible, trial a mk7 (say) tweak - however, proceed with caution (with the expectation that there will be a higher likelihood that the loose stools in the brown stuff might collide with the fan blades . If the latter happens, it's generally easy to fix the problem by reverting the adaptation channels to their previous settings - which of course you will find on the written records that you have created.

@@testeronline @ dv52 (Australia) Thank you for your replies, they're both very helpful. I will take a good look through some examples in the forum and try getting my head around how I'm going to do what I want to do.
