2019 Atlas Highline (Canadian SE, I think)
4MO V6 w/ 5k OEM towing
It seems that the 7-pin trailer plug is only powered if an actual trailer is connected. The increased electrical load from trailer's lights is detected, telling the car that a trailer is attached and to go into "tow mode".
Is it possible to have the car provide power to trailer plug pins without a trailer being attached, and without the car going into "tow mode"?
Searching a few different forums turned up various other requests/use cases for this, but no solutions.
My use case is I have a 7-pin to 4-pin flat adapter with a back-up alarm built-in. The alarm is connected to the reverse/center pin on the 7-pin plug.

You can use this adapter:CURT 57004 LED-Compatible 7-Way RV Blade Vehicle-Side to 4-Way Flat Trailer-Side Trailer Wiring Adapter
which has resistors to act like a trailer is connected.
Once connected, Altas will go in 'trailer mode'. NOTE: This mode will deactivate rear facing features like auto brake assist, blind spot, and other features as well since it thinks you have a trailer behind you.
