Hello alltogether,
I just discovered this forum.
Currently I am wondering which dongle type is recommended to buy for retrieving information from the Volkswagen ID.3 and reset error logs? Would it also work on Audi A4 Model 2017, including doing some coding?
Many thanks

It depends on what you want/need. Both dongles work for the cars you mentioned. However the nextgen dongle has some advantages over the firstgen dongle: - should be faster than the firstgen - will support other brands aswell (once they get implemented) next one will be BMW - does support IOS and Android That should be the major differences (hope i didn't forget anything) For stuff like coding you'll need to buy the PRO version aswell.

On the OBDeleven Website there are the following nextgen products:
- Nextgen OBDeleven Device € 59.99
- Starter Pack € 69.99 - PRO Pack € 99.99
In the the Apple App Store an Upgrade from the Device to the Pro can be bought for € 34.99. Also on the OBD Eleven Website 100 Credits for Device can be ordered for € 14.99, most likely bringing the functionality of the Starter Pack level? Alternatively, on the OBD Eleven Website an Activation for the PRO Version can get ordered for € 24.99 plus minimum of 100 Credits for € 14.99? Thus buying the PRO Pack is indeed more advised since it has 500 credits.
However, I have the following additional questions:
How many credits are consumed each time when simply using the OBD eleven for reading values from the car? How many credits for resetting errors?
From another forum I learned that plugging OBDeleven devices may trigger the anti-theft alarm of the ID.3. What is the reason and what can be done to prevent this?
Thanks a lot and best regards

How many credits are consumed each time when simply using the OBD eleven for reading values from the car? How many credits for resetting errors? You only need credits for the so called one-click-apps. All other options(reading fault codes, coding, live data, ...) don't require any credits(some require the PRO version). From another forum I learned that plugging OBDeleven devices may trigger the anti-theft alarm of the ID.3. What is the reason and what can be done to prevent this? Haven't heard anything about that so can't help you there.
