If the vehicle has SFD protection you'll need to wait otherwise you're free to code, adjust ... What coding instructions are you looking for?

Thanks Thirsty, yes I think that this model of Octavia (NX) has SFD protection, no problem I”ll waiting... I’m looking how to enable autolock after I left the vehicle.

Hi. My name is Harry and i also look forward for the support of this new octavia. I am particularly interested in fog lights turning on automatically when cornering. Thanks!

Based on what we know so far the MK4 is protected by SFD.
What this means from what we have seen on the Golf and Leon (also SFD Protected) is that Control Unit 08 air con, 17 (Dashboard) and A5 (Drivers assistance) are able to be coded but Control unit 09 is not open for changes, but if somebody knows otherwise that would be helpful.
it appears all new VAG cars need the bonnet open to code

I saw a Youtube movie about a new Octavia where they had enabled new temperature info on dashboard. It now showed oil, dsg and water temp next to eachother. Looked pretty good since it only shows water temp by default. How do u make this change?

Lane assist which is turned on every time you start engine With this it is set to last setting you used before turning engine off

futach not sure if this will work on the Octavia but on the Leon MK4 This coding is supposed to work if the air con is turned on. 5/ Deactivate Stop Start Disabling Stop Start thanks to Phipilipipp on the seat-leon.de forum I have seen that some users have problems with this coding on MK3 but It has been confirmed that it works fine on MK4. - Select Control Unit 08 (Air Conditioning) - Select Adaptation - Select Deactivation of Start Stop Function Two places to have a look at to see if the coding matches on your car obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/10746/leon-mk4-coding-adaptations and obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/10689/setting-dashboard not sure if they will work on yours but worth a look. I would also point out that on the review I have done on the Leon a lot of the old coding seems to still be able to work (in other words all the switches and names are the same or very similar). But from the guys in Germany they tell me that you cant code control unit 09 but i have still listed all the coding anyway for when oBD11 get the interface up and running with VW.

Just now, I long coded mine as the lane assist was giving me headaches, I only use it on highways as it was too strict on regular roads and constantly beeping. Also found a setting with start-stop and turned it off but that I have to test later when actually have time to drive it for some time. At least in the dashboard it seemed to still be active so Im not having big hopes. If you should know about more settings that can be adjusted please let me know. EDIT: its the same as testeronline wrote so it will not work.

Thanks for the update, i have one guy in Germany who says this works and have certainly seen it on older cars (Audi and VW) work so its obviously tied in to firmware.

Hi everyone, I have a question related to the oil level display. I have seen on different YouTube presentation of the car, in the "vehicle status" window there is oil level tab that my car doesn't have. Does anybody know how to "activate" this..if possible. PS. I have Bolero hu

Hi,
I've connected and tried to do some adaptation but it is asking for the key. In Scala code was known. Maybe somebody already knows code for NX octavia.

Did you open the front hood? (which is now necessary) As mine was not asking for any key.

Hi,
Just seen that you also have an Octavia IV ? I got one, and i'm tired of the lane assist frequently telling me "please drive in center of your lane"...
Did you find any setting to disable the warning, or make it happen later ? I don't want to disable lane assist, just this warning...
Also, have you tried other codings ?

Well, I did some test : Could put setting on "early" instead of "late" and then it seems the warning message gone !
But I also tried to add traffic sign recognition but did not managed: as adaptations in CU works, I can't do long coding, even with bonnet opened, I always have "write failed"...

Hi napo7! thanks for this trick, but i tried today on my octavia 4, but i can't do any long encoding, i also have the pro version but it doesn't let me do any encoding as if it was locked, how did you change that value?

Did you try to open the bonnet ?
I have to open mine everytime I want to code something
PS : "one clic" long coding works fine, but changing bits in byte mode always give me "writing failed"
I would love to add traffic sign recognition, but setting adaptations in 5F is not possible for now since it is SFD protected !

Thanks it works!! I noticed a (too expensive) purchase appeared in the on-board computer store, auto on-off of the high beams, is it possible to activate this function via long coding? thanks for the replies.

Hi, I did noticed it too... Surprisingly, there is probably other functions that could be purchased (traffic sign recognition), but they decided to not propose them.
I did not managed to enable light assist : it require either coding in the 09 and/or 5F modules, which are SFD protected. Perhaps a future update of obd11 will allow it, but until now, it's not possible...

Light assist and everything you can buy in the shop cannot be added with a simple coding like in the past, it's already all coded but locked somewhere that no one know.

I was trying a bit and found out I can change the " Overtaking right prevention" to disabled.
So if you have the ACC fitted and in city you don´t want the ACC to stop you from overtaking right you can disable it.
Sadly I didn´t write down where to find that setting but I will add it later when I check again.

Hi all,
I have the new octavia estate rs for 1 week and i notice something. When i unlock the car all the interior lights are working, but when i open drivers door the passenger lights (back lights) are not working with closed doors and the opposite as well (open the back doors and the front lights not working with front doors closed)
Do you know if i have to change something in coding?
Thanks

I thought that VAG had turned off the ability to disable stop start on the MQB Evo and other new platforms.
Happy to be proved wrong but certainly lots of late 2020 cars could not do it.
I presume you dont have a physical button on the MK4 so you can't fit a memory device.
