I did this several times(code entry)both on VCDS and on Obd11. Code in the 5f confirmation of installation change is 8B9A. Substitute code should be 4248 but on obd 11 it is buffering like for five minutes and nothing happens while in VCDS controller accepts it but the fault persists as well as the existing code.
The check sum error came after installing car play remotely via we connect store and updating software for mib 3.

slijo : Hmm....... why do you believe that the problem with the 5F module on this car is a SVM issue? Clearly the descriptor of the 5F error message says "Software incompatible" - which is a very different fault! I assume that your words "the check sum error" relates to information from the VCDS scan report for this same 5F module (I suggest that you enable Freeze-frame data on your OBD11 account so that your OBD11 scan also sees this additional diagnostic information). So, the check sum function is a validation protocol for software. In the main, once software is correctly loaded into a module, the check-sum value doesn't change. The primary purpose of a check-sum is during the software down-load period - it ensures that the correct stream of ONES and ZEROS are received by the module when the remote facility is transmitting data.
If a check-sum error appears when software is downloaded - it means that the values of the information that was received by the module has been corrupted for some reason.
I'm not familiar with the process of "installing car play remotely via we connect store and updating software for mib 3" and this process may still require a SVM type solution. However, this process must be NON-OEM and it is likely prone to lot's of NON-OEM issues
I suspect that if the SVM tweak needs to be applied to the download process - it first requires that the download software has NO "Software incompatible" error and NO "check sum" error!

Hello everyone, on my Audi q7 4m I have a problem with module 5F, code error B201A00 static, I looked on the forum and saw that the solution is to go to adaptations and look for confirmation of installation change and look for 4 numbers, I do that and I only have one number 0, if I try to enter a number out of 4, it says function isn't available, please help me, what should I do?

zenica: I have no experience with this model car - but an Audi Q7 4M is built on a MLB evo platform whereas the cars on this part of the forum have a MBQ platform. These are very different cars and it's not a surprise that the Golf mk7 solution doesn't work on a Q7. Maybe post your problem on the Q7 part of the forum? Don

But no, I never get bored by these (or any other) questions on this forum- they are ALL genuine inquiries that are real for the requestor! And, since the person authoring the request has made the effort to pen the words, the very least that I can do is treat it seriously!! Actually, your comment has crystalized a concept that I have been intending to discuss for a while with the deities on the OBD11 mother-ship - but I haven't managed to put my thoughts in writing yet (my real life has a much higher priority than my virtual identity as dv52 (Australia) !!). I'd welcome your comment on my idea - and the views of others reading this reply
As you will be aware, lots of "more informed" forum colleagues are wary of One Click Apps (OCAs) because they leave no records of changes made. Clearly OCAs have a reasonable appeal with OBD11 users in general and I'm guessing that the facility must result in a commercial advantage for the shareholders.
I don't use OCAs, but my uneducated observation is that they are focused exclusively on tweaks! Why not extend the scope of OCAs to include diagnostics?
I'm not sure how extensive this new class of OCA would be (probably not a big field)- but the SVM fix would appear to be a perfect example where the OCA could read adaptation channel setting, then calculate the XOR value and apply the answer (and clear the error-code if needed).
Given that the ONE SVM procedure works for a number of different vehicles in the VAG stable, I suspect that it could be applied to many make/models.
What do you think?

Good idea but I did suggest a similar solution to battery coding (increase last digit by one) and they said NO.
But raise a one click app request and let's see what they say.
I would also suggest they raise a helpfile for this sort of stuff, personally don't like the blog system because it's not so easy to search on.

Don, dv52 (Australia) I’m not sure exactly how OCA work, they may not read the SVM as a actual number that you can do math with, but I know it can be done, as More Incredible Bash does it, but that uses GEM to access the adaptions, but SVM isn’t a problem, it’s just a way to let the techs know something has been changed in the 5F module, and I presume that is for diagnostic or something, but instead techs will just put it back to factory spec than actually look into it, as it’s quicker and easier and cheaper And as for there not being a history for OCA I’m guessing that’s a monetary thing, as if you used a OCA and it left the signatures in history then you wouldn’t need to use that OCA again (and I’m sure they have a couple of OCA’s that arnt in the general knowledge yet) Pretty sure in earlier versions it did store them in history tho, I did look into making your own OCA via the ult package, but read a few complaints about it not being able to do much apart from basic stuff (sorry can’t remember what they were trying to do) as I wasn’t prepared to spend money on getting ult to actually play Also another thing to consider is that if everything was OCA like SVM or battery then maybe less people would subscribe to pro or ultimate, just a thought Maybe I’m just getting old and grumpy, especially with people who don’t do their homework before asking questions 😂 plus I think I’ve had the SVM error for about 3 years, since Vw did the security update on the 5f 😂🤣😂 |

Anyway the entire matter is academic - I've had a reply from the deities on the OBD11 mother-ship and you are correct- apparently the OCA language can't easily accommodate the required smarts for the SVM fix and this ain't viewed as a priority matter!
