Whenever I try to change anything using the apps I get a message that says, "Battery voltage is low Ensure battery charger is connected and try again." and I am sure that my battery is ok as only 2 years old and no starting etc issues.. Also get the red battery symbol on the app screen. Thanks for your help..

Hello, have you tried to put a maintainer or a battery charger, while using obdeleven? somewhere, but I don't remember where, it was recommended to use this tool.

I have this problem on my Gen1 (I think) device on ANY vehicle I connect it to. I have connected it to a 2010 Passat, a 2009 Passat, and most recently, my wife's 2017 Tiguan, so it matters not what vehicle I plug it into, I get the "Battery Low Voltage" warning on any app I try to use. This warning shows on the main screen as "Battery Voltage" and is red, showing something ridiculous like 1-2 volts.
Is my device faulty? Please let me know.

Have you tried to calibrate the battery voltage in the app? App -> Settings -> Device -> Voltage -> Calibrate
If that doesn't help try to measure the real battery voltage with a multimeter and check if it is too low.

I have done this, including checking the voltage at the battery with a multimeter. Voltage readings are greater than 12 volts, both while the car is at rest or running. Like I said before, this issue presents itself in ANY VW I connect to via my gen1 device, and I find it exceedingly unlikely there would be a bad or failing battery on three different cars at the same time.
So, my thought is that my gen1 device is faulty. Anyone from OBDeleven around to talk to me about this?

If you want to talk to someone from voltas you'll need to contact them via email or chat on their website. OBDeleven guys are not really active here because this is a user forum.

spodie : With my colleague's indulgence for interrupting your discussion, the voltage measured by the OBD11 dongle is not battery voltage; it's the "system rail voltage" which is different (and lower than battery voltage). So (and as you say) - if the same problem arises on 3 x separate cars, then clearly there is a problem with the dongle. It's not clear and of course anything is possible, but my hunch (pure guess) is that the problem could be physical, rather than programming based. Here's the arrangement for the standard OBD port used by ALL VAG vehicles:
Now - let's not discuss what the ISO/SAE pins mean - but for your problem, notice the socket pin #16 (+12Volts) and socket pins #4 & #5 (ground). These pins are the relevant source of power supply for the OBD11 dongle.
Again, a wild guess - but because it's an easy try - maybe investigate the 3 x mating pins on your OBD11 dongle . In particular, check if any of the pins are loose, or pushed-in too far (compared to the other pins)

Doesn’t look like this has come to a resolution. However, I am having the exact same issue. Not able to reset service interval on two separate Audis.
I reached out to support and with very little information provided to them, I was assured I have a faulty unit. My guess is that they have seen this many, many times. Before looking up this thread I was shocked at how quickly they diagnosed the issue.
To say the least, I’m not overly happy with the quality / support from OBDeleven having to buy a new device after such little use over the last 2 years.

I can confirm that calibrating the voltage in the app settings has resolved my issue. Again, a bit upset that OBDeleven support is not upfront with users about this common issue and suggested my device needed replacement.
