I know that both VCDS and OBD11 have a bit of code that tells the user that in order to code the car you have to have the Bonnet open (and from what i have seen the Handbrake on as well). But this was an Audi only feature.
The new MQB Evo cars obviously have the SFD Protection that may or may not get sorted but I have seen on a few German sites now that VW Have introduced this feature on MY21 Cars could anybody confirm this is correct and does anybody know if it impacts Skoda and Seat.
Final question does the code that tells you to open the bonnet work of a list or is there a way to identify from the setup of the car.

I have read on few forums that in cars with partial SFD protection you can code normally just when you open up the engine hatch. It sounds like it's too easy to work, but I will try today In my car, for example I cannot code disable of audible tone when engine on and driver's door open. Whatever I do, this annoying beep is still there. Today I will try with hatch open and let you know. My car is MY2020 Passat R-Line, without full SFD, but few parameters are not possible to change.

My current understanding is that SFD Is not a Full lockdown,
Control Unit 17, 08 and A5 all have changes allowed to them (currently but I suspect over the years that may change).
For non MQB Evo cars currently there is no SFD but VAG Have made it so you have to open the bonnet to code.

I need to understand, what exactly prevents some changes in my Passat R-Line MY2020. For example, I can change some parameters like seatbelt audible warning, but I cannot code that at engine running driver's doors opening there is not loud beeping from AID... I can change the look of AID dials, but not turn off start/stop. And so on... How it is achieved?
