I have just bought an obdeleven, plugged it in, downloaded the app...annnnd... device not authorised. reinstalled the app, restarted my phone and it's all the same.
From what I can find online, I have to contact support who won't respond until next week now!? Is this my only option or is an amazon return and trip back to caristaapp on the cards?

If reinstalling the app / clearing app data don't help you'll most likly need to return it. Voltas Support doesn't work on weekends so if you want to speak to them directly you need to wait until monday. I would contact amazon and get a refund since you bought it through amazon.(And then order it again)
I personally use both OBDeleven and caristaapp but i like OBDeleven more since it offers a lot more opportunities. With caristaapp you can only use the functions provided by the developers. With OBDeleven and PRO license you're able to access each CU directly and code it etc.

yea obdeleven states it offers more fuctions... if it actually worked. i don't think i will waste my time ordering another if to be honest..

It's your decision but in my eyes it's the best product for vag vehicles. The price-performance ratio is really great. And for my usage caristaapp would never be enough
