Hello,
I'm new to this, I certainly hope you'll bear with me.
I just need some clarity on Bytes and Bits. Do they apply the same function to all cars (brand and make)? Or are they car brand and make unique? For example: if I want to long code "emergency break/flashing lights" and have the following procedure:
-Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics) -Control unit - Long Coding -Byte 16 -Bit 1=Activate -Bit 2=Activate
Will the above procedure apply to all brands and make (obviously I mean the ones supported by Obdeleven), or will this procedure be unique to the particular car being coded?
Many thanks.

The coding can differ. If the car for example has the same platform like mqb the coding will most likly be the same. You cannot say that every car has it's own unique coding and you cannot say that all cars have the same. Some have the same or similar and some not.

Thank you so much Thirsty (Germany) for your prompt response.
So, in essence, it's control mudules that "dictate" the availability of features that can be coded? For instance, you can't code "mirror dip" on a car that does not memory seat, am I correct?
Thanks for your trouble.

You can code mirror dip on cars that don't have electrical seats with the seat memory but it won't work properly since the mirror positions cannot be stored. The mirror will go down but not fully and it most likly will not come back up in the right position.
