I was gifted a Gen 1 device at the beginning of the year after hearing that iOS was in the process of being supported. At that time it was not announced that iOS would require an updated Gen 2 device. On that basis, should Gen 1 owners receive some sort of discount on a Gen 2 device if the purchase was made specifically under the presumption of future iOS compatibility?? I appreciate the Gen 2 device will have some newer hardware but the device still essentially does the same thing as the Gen 1.
What does everyone else think about this, especially if you are a recent Gen 1 owner hoping to use the device on iOS?

Just sell it and buy a Gen 2 Is hardly the makers fault whoever gifted it to you didnt find out before buying. Thats like saying a dealer should give you a discount on next years car because it has Apple play or something this years didnt.

Simple answer: NO forum.obdeleven.com/thread/5936/faq-next-generation-deviceWill First generation device owners get discount? Can I exchange the device to Next generation device? First generation device is a great tool for your Android – it will be constantly updated for Volkswagen Group support. Next generation device is a tool with more capabilities. We cannot offer discount for it.
