Hello, I'm trying to initiate a DPF Regen on my 2012 Golf TDI. In all the examples I've found on YouTube and such, a channel search feature pops up after Engine Control Unit > Security access > 27971 >... after that (and really it's the same before too) any option I choose ie. Live data, Long Adaptation, basic settings... selecting any of those only brings up a box to enter a channel number 1-254. On the videos I've seen, and walk throughs I've read, a search window pops up with channel descriptions. I'm not getting that option. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to uninstall/reinstall the app? What's going on? How do I initiate a DPF regen with this thing? LOL Any direction is greatly appreciated.

For regeneration while standing you have to go to engine->basic setting->group 226. But first go to live data and check Oil Ash Volume group 108 Value 1, if it's over 175 ml regeneration while standing will not work only while driving.

Thanks for the assistance adiwob.
A few things...
Live data > 108 indicated 108ml... However, I'm curious what the ash volume content of the oil has to do with the soot level of the Diesel Particulate Filter in the exhaust, which I've seen is measured by weight.
I entered engine->basic setting->group 226 and held/released the green button, depressed the brakes, depressed the accelerator peddle, and a few different things happened depending on how I did it. Non of which was a regen cycle. If I held both of the peddles down it would show a temperature in values 1 & 2 and indicate that group 226 is "on", then after a short time (less than a minute) it would switch to "off" and indicate a 1 in value one and "cancel" in value 2. Which, is the same thing that would happen if I activated the green button, pressed the peddles, and released them... It would flash the temps and then indicate 1 and cancel, values 1 & 2 and "off".
In the app, how do I get the dropdown list of Channel descriptions? I have my vehicle and engine code entered in the app. Is there something else I need to do?
Shoot, it'd be great if I could, at a bare minimum, locate a complete list of the channels. This OBDeleven thing hasn't been the most intuitive tool as of yet. I have to be missing SOMETHING
Any further insight on these issues I'm having?
Again, Thank you!

The blank channel list it's normal because obdeleven leave users to add the channel description, seems like for your car nobody add it that why it's blank. If you post your software number from 01 engine I can try to find a list with all available channels. Also read this from 1.6l/2.0l R4 CR-TDI (CAN) wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Diesel_Particle_Filter_Emergency_Regeneration here you find what prerequisites you need to do before regeneration.

...obdeleven leave users to add the channel description... So, they charge for the device, ask me to disable my ad blocker, and "offer" me to pay them $2.99 for ad-free browsing of the information boards AND expect me and you to do their job (IMO) of deciphering the vehicle codes... or reference another code reader manufacturers site? Seems criminal that it's not already a full functioning device and corresponding app. Brilliant business plan if it works out. Thanks again Adiwob

Same issue here. No drop down box or way to figure out what each block monitors. Unit is constantly looking up as well. Not impressed with the product so far.
