Having problems calibrating steering angle sensor. Car has been restored from front collision with airbags deployed. Crash data erased. Control Unit 44 steering assistance restored to factory settings, car has learned lock end stops ok, but will not accept basic setting for centre position calibration. Error message basic settings, cancelled due to detected malfunction.
I'm getting rational and accurate data on channel steering angle sensor raw, straight ahead is 0 deg. Ive had the car on VCDS (with an experienced auto electonics engineer) with exact same results. Looks like a failed steering angle sensor - but raw data channel working suggests it is software? Has anyone had problems, or managed to successfully calibrate on this model with the fully electric power assist column NOT the electrohydraulic assist rack.
Many thanks, Dave
