I bought an obdeleven off a user from a car group im in, it came and it’s asking for a 6 digit password when I try to connect, the guy I bought it from reckons he can’t remember it and has just removed his account, do I just have to request a new code? How do they know the codes for my device? The vin number?

I would contact support via the online help function and tell them what you said above.
I know they can reset the code as they have done it for me as a test but not sure if they can do it on a different account.
But best to ask and see what happens.
