Hi,
I'm a new user, I have the pro version and have used obdeleven apps to perform a couple of minor tweaks on my 2013 VW CC TDi successfully, so communication with the device working fine.
I need to change my fuel filter soon so I'll need to prime the fuel after doing this.
To do this I believe I need to use the Engine -> General Settings -> Initial fuel fill.... and using the values 10s and 50l as shown in a youtube video.
However when I try this obdeleven app comes up with a message "(22) Function cancelled, marginal conditions have not been met."
I'm trying this with the ignition on and the engine stopped.
I have also tried this with two separate android devices with the same result.
For information, I have used an alternative function under Engine -> Testing..... -> Fuel Circuit/pump (can't remember exact name) area of the app and this works fine as I can hear the tank pump running when on. However I believe this function only operates the pump by the tank and not the other in the engine bay to prime the high pressure unit.
Does anyone have any ideas what I may be doing wrong.
Many thanks

I have the same problem. I guess we are putting the parameters wrong in the initial fuel filling... hopefully someone knows the right parameters for my Passat b7? I've also read somewhere on this forum that fp test can do the job just fine. Any feedback on that ?

Before this procedure, you must change the diagnostic session to 'End of assembly line mode (EOL)'

I changed my diesel filter last year, I didn't reprime it with any computer program be that right or wrong. Just started the car as normal after. It started fine, and ran as normal... zero problems

If it helps anyone, when finally changing my fuel filter I manually topped up the filter housing with diesel as far as could as a backup plan then resecured lid.
However, using obdeleven I also used Engine -> output tests -> Fuel Pump Electronics and then activated this test for 2-3 minutes.
It seems to run the fuel pump on and off every second or so whilst it is enabled.
Whilst it was running I could see the fuel pipes in the engine bay moving slightly and could also hear a bubbling noise for the first few seconds. The bubbling noise stopped after a while so I presume this means all the air was been bled from the system.
Afterwards the engine started straight away so I conclude that this method worked and that the Fuel Pump Electronics output test feature can be used to refill the filter housing and prime the system after a fuel filter change.
For info I noticed that my tdi fuel filter housing only has 3 pipes attached. However, I have noticed online that some others have 4 pipes so I presume there are some variations of this tdi engine.

I changed the fuel filter in my 2014 jetta tdi last month. I couldn't get any of the solutions listed above to work. The output tests->fuel pump electronics seemed to only turn on the high pressure pump and not the low pressure pump in the tank. this does not seem optimal to me. I watched the Ross Tech video on changing the fuel filter and determined that they were in the Engine-> Basic Setting->channel 35. This channel was the same for me in OBDeleven. I made my way to channel 35 (control unit 01-Engine-> Basic Settings-> channel 35). I pressed and held the green button at the bottom of the screen until the status bar changes from 'off' to 'on'. I Let it run for 30 sec and turn it off with another press of the green button. The channel seems to lock up at this point. IUsed the right/left arrow buttons to move to an adjacent channel and then back to channel 35. I Repeated this cycle 3 times as recommended. This method turned on both pumps. I can't remember if I needed to enter the security code for this. Code 27971 should work if needed.

I followed this method too, however I did not fill the housing up with diesel. I was in a rush and did not remove the filter housing lid to double check it was filled. I did this by going to engine control>output test>fuel pump electronics. I changed my fuel filter out, turned my key to on position and ran it. Heard the fuel pump him and then bubbles so it sounded like it was filling up the fuel filter. Then started the car right up. However, now when I start the car up and drive it humms until the car is turned off. Do you guys have any advice on this? It did not humms at all and my concern is it will wear out my fuel pump. Did anyone else have this issue and/or advice on how to stop the humming?

When you change the diesel filter you don't have to perform initial fuel filing, you have to perform transfer fuel pump (fp) test.
